About the Role...

We are seeking an accomplished Synthetic Organic Chemist with extensive experience in Parallel Synthesis, high-throughput experimentation (HTE) and Medicinal Chemistry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in advanced synthetic techniques, reaction optimization, and the design and execution of parallel synthesis libraries. Strong leadership skills in a laboratory setting and the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams are essential. 

What You’ll Do… 

  • Design and execute synthetic strategies for small molecule libraries using HTE techniques. 
  • Lead and mentor a team of chemists to achieve project goals from within the lab. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage key external collaborations. 
  • Utilize robotic platforms and advanced analytical techniques to accelerate synthetic workflows. 
  • Foster innovation by contributing to the design of machine learning and AI based tools for medicinal and synthetic chemistry. 
  • Serve as a hands-on leader in the lab, driving projects forward and ensuring high-quality results. 

What You Bring… 

  • BS+10/MS+8/PhD+5  years experience in automated synthetic chemistry, parallel synthesis or a related discipline. 
  • Extensive background in synthetic chemistry techniques relevant to drug discovery.  
  • Proven expertise with lab equipment that supports preclinical discovery chemistry (automated liquid handlers, analytical & prep HPLC, automated weighing robots, etc).  
  • Demonstrated experience in optimizing synthetic chemistry workflows and improving process efficiency.
  • Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills, with experience working on interdisciplinary projects.
  • Ability to train and mentor direct reports.
  • Eagerness to explore new technologies and work collaboratively with vendors.
  • Experience in multi-parameter optimization approaches in medicinal chemistry is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML techniques applied to drug design & synthetic chemistry.
  • Proven track record of leading and mentoring teams in a laboratory environment.
