The Sr Manager - Employee Communications & HR Projects is responsible for the development and implementation of internal employee communications in support of BU requirements, online communication platforms (intranet and digital signage), and collaborates on cross-functional communications. This role is also responsible for leading and supporting other cross functional HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manages the design and content of the company intranet; to include the voice, managers edge and collaborations spaces.
  • Manages in-building digital signage. 
  • Researches new tools and practices to ensure effectiveness of employee communication channels.
  • Develops employee communication calendar and roadmap to drive specific content and communications supporting Open Enrollment, Performance Management, and other annual events. 
  • Provides measurement and analysis on the effectiveness of employee communication programs.
  • Coordinates with strategic comms (1) to ensure internal comms and social media postings are aligned and (2) for time sensitive employee communications (i.e. incident response messaging).
  • Supports other HR initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

  • 8 years of progressively responsible, related business experience
  • 2+ years’ experience managing others
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong proofreading, writing, and editing skills
  • Experience analyzing data, developing insights that influence the strategy and lead to business results including Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with employee communication/collaboration platforms
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment laws, procedures, and standards
  • Relationship-management experience and consulting skills, with ability to lead, engage and build consensus across various levels of leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to have effective conversations with an executive audience while navigating confidential topics
  • Proven track record of execution through program/project management
  • 4 Year Bachelors degree in HR, Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience required; related graduate degree preferred

 This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a hybrid work schedule.

The pay range is $135,800 - $183,800.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
