Garden State Veterinary Services is seeking a Veterinary Pharmacy & Laboratory Technician to join our dedicated team at our 24/7 Emergency and Specialty Hospital. This unique dual role position offers the opportunity to work in both our in-house laboratory and pharmacy, supporting our doctors, patients, and clients in a collaborative, high energy environment.

At Garden State Veterinary Services, you’ll be part of a compassionate and skilled team that is committed to delivering exceptional care to pets and their families. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with doctors, technicians, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care
- Uphold hospital policies and procedures for safety, accuracy, and compliance
- Provide support across departments as needed
Laboratory:
- Perform and document in-house lab work accurately and efficiently
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment while ensuring quality control
- Keep error logs, monitor reagent status, and update lab records
- Assist with lab test preparation and ensure results are reported promptly
- Track and oversee outside lab pick up and shipments
- Maintain lab inventory
Pharmacy:
- Process prescriptions accurately and within required timeframes
- Manage refill requests, obtain doctor approvals, and communicate with clients
- Handle incoming pharmacy calls, voicemails, in-person medication pick>ups and emails with accuracy, compassion and professionalism
- Monitor pharmacy inventory and assist with ordering supplies
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required, degree or certification in animal science or related field preferred
- Prior experience with veterinary pharmaceuticals and laboratory equipment (IDEXX, Zoetis, etc.) required
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and medical math skills
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Schedule: Sunday – Thursday, 9AM until 5:30PM
