The Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center is a specialty practice comprised of board certified and residency trained doctors, licensed veterinary technicians, and support teams who are highly trained in Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Neurology, Physical Rehabilitation, and Emergency and Critical Care.

About the job: The Veterinary Assistant position will assist the hospital in delivering excellent care to all of our patients within the hospital. Perform Veterinary Assistant duties pursuant to LVVSC Protocols. Embodies the culture in treating every client with the utmost courteous and attentive treatment possible, with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets. Assist DVMs and LVT in all duties necessary.
What you will bring
- Assisting with echocardiograms
- Performing specialized diagnostic procedures
- Assisting in the application of holter monitoring equipment
- Measuring blood pressure using Doppler
- Documenting history and updates in medical records
- Provide quality, compassionate care for your patients
- Assist in anesthetic and sedated procedures
- Maintain accurate treatment sheets & provide compassionate care for hospitalized patients
- Take radiographs and obtain and prepare various blood samples for diagnostic testing
- Provide client education on a wide range of at home care
About You
- RVT preferred but 2 years’ experience minimum necessary
- Understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring
- Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens
- Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Understanding of normal vs abnormal physiologic ranges
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
- Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.

Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday with rotating weekends in the future
Salary: $18.00 - $22.00/hr, depends on experience
