Senior Global Operations Specialist
Who We Are
Verkada is transforming how organizations protect their people and places with an integrated, privacy-sensitive AI-powered platform that includes solutions for video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management.
We’ve got serious momentum in the market: more than 30,000 customers (including 100+ of the Fortune 500), a $5.8B valuation, more than $1 billion in annualized bookings, and backing from CapitalG, Sequoia Capital, General Catalyst, Felicis Ventures, Next47 and more. Physical AI is one of the most consequential technology shifts of our time, and Verkada is at the center of it.
You can look at all kinds of communities to see our platform’s impact in the world. It's the retailer that uses our agentic AI to deter theft before it happens. The warehouse that uses AI-powered alerts to make sure its team is protected on the floor with proper PPE. The school that’s alerted to a threat in real-time and triggers a lockdown in seconds, not minutes. We’re rapidly scaling this impact: today, more than 2 million Verkada devices are deployed across 170+ countries.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and execution-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our global supply chain team based in Taiwan. In this role, you will be the operational linchpin for freight management across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region while supporting critical global trade compliance, financial workflows, and inventory optimization efforts.
The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of international shipping mechanisms, multi-regional 3PL coordination, and trade regulations. You will serve as the primary operational interface for freight forwarders and internal cross-functional partners, ensuring seamless regional shipment execution, proactive problem-solving, and efficient inventory allocation across global trial pools and warehouse nodes.
What You'll Do
1. Regional Freight & Carrier Management (APAC)
- Oversee day-to-day operations and performance of Freight Forwarders (FF) across the APAC region, serving as the main escalation point for service issues.
- Coordinate regional shipments by resolving carrier inquiries regarding Incoterms, documentation requirements, and customs clearances to eliminate transit delays.
- Support the execution and data validation for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with core carriers to drive accountability and continuous service improvement.
- Manage localized logistics requirements, including small parcel fulfillment and domestic distribution within Taiwan.
2. Freight Procurement & Financial Auditing
- Assist with global freight procurement activities, supplier onboarding, and structural setup within internal ERP and procurement databases.
- Own the daily Freight Audit & Pay (FAP) processes, verifying transactional data for freehand/spot shipments to ensure billing accuracy.
- Manage the end-to-end invoice review and approval workflow for freight spend via global procurement allocation platforms.
- Consolidate, validate, and publish key performance metrics and cost reports from logistics service providers to ensure corporate data integrity.
3. Global Trade Compliance & Importer Operations
- Coordinate global Importer of Record (IOR) and Exporter of Record (EOR) services, managing high-touch quoting processes and international compliance guidelines.
- Oversee regional execution of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs, ensuring accurate data tracking and timely monthly reporting for specific international environmental compliance programs (such as WEEE).
4. Inventory Management & Network Optimization
- Manage and balance local office trial inventory pools across multiple global entities (including regions such as Mexico, Singapore, Australia, South Korea, and UAE).
- Partner closely with the Global Supply Chain planning teams to monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels across non-US Third-Party Logistics (3PL) fulfillment sites.
- Drive warehouse and transportation efficiencies by collaborating with Joint Development Manufacturers (JDMs) and carriers on pallet optimization, container utilization, and physical footprint reduction initiatives.
What You Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Experience: 3–5+ years of progressive experience in international logistics, freight forwarding coordination, or global supply chain operations.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of maritime and air freight structures, Incoterms 2020, customs clearance protocols, and multi-country 3PL environments.
- Systems Proficiency: Direct experience working with modern global ERP software, automated procurement/invoice approval workflow tools, and standard freight audit systems.
- Analytical Skills: High data literacy; ability to analyze carrier data, validate performance metrics, and translate numbers into operational optimizations (e.g., volumetric pallet configuration).
- Compliance & Sustainability: Familiarity with global environmental compliance reporting (EPR/WEEE) or specialized global trade compliance setups (IOR/EOR) is highly advantageous.
- Language Skills: Full professional fluency in English and Mandarin is required to seamlessly bridge communications between local manufacturers/carriers and global headquarters.
- Ability to travel 30% to supplier factory sites (primarily Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, with occasional travel to China). Occasional travel to US headquarters.
