Field Maintenance Technician
Verra Mobility is a global leader in smart mobility. We develop technology-driven solutions to make transportation safer and more convenient worldwide. We work with police departments and municipalities across North America, the Asia Pacific and Europe to install safety cameras, including red-light, speed, and school bus stop arm cameras. We manage tolling transactions and violations for the world's largest commercial fleets and rental car companies, serving over 8.5 million vehicles whilst, via our proprietary connected systems, processing nearly 165 million transactions each year for more than 50 tolling authorities.
Verra Mobility is a vibrant and rapidly expanding company that places people at the heart of everything we do. We wholeheartedly embrace our core values: Do What’s Right, Lead with Grace, Win Together, and Own It in our every interaction with our customers and dedicated team members.
We’re currently seeking a Field Maintenance Technician to join our NZ team based in Auckland.
This is a career opportunity, not just a job. If you're technically minded, hands-on, and want to grow your skills working with both hardware and networking technologies — all while being outdoors and, on the move, we want to hear from you.
What you'll be doing:
- Maintain and support roadside speed and safety camera systems through scheduled visits across your region.
- Perform basic fault diagnosis, component replacement and field-level IT/networking tasks.
- Keep sites clean, safe, and functioning — often working independently and in varied conditions.
- Work safely at height using ladders and elevated platforms, always following required safety procedures.
- Record field activities using Verra Mobility’s internal systems and escalate issues as required.
- Actively contribute to compliance and system uptime across our network.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in field-based roles, maintenance, or system support.
- Confidence with basic IT and networking concepts — including modems, cabling, and fault indicators.
- Mechanically minded with practical troubleshooting skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and at height (ladders/platforms).
- A strong safety mindset and a clean, full New Zealand driver’s license.
What’s in it for you:
- A structured role with clear systems, processes, and support.
- Full-time position with opportunities to build technical capability across smart infrastructure and IoT.
- Hands-on work with real-world impact in a company that’s leading the future of mobility.
- Autonomy on the road, backed by a supportive APAC team.
