Accounts Payable Supervisor

Summary:
The Accounts Payable (AP) Supervisor is responsible for providing daily leadership and oversight to the Accounts Payable team. This role ensures the accurate and timely processing of vendor payments, maintains strong vendor relationships, and leads, supports, and develops a team of AP Analysts. Additionally, the AP Supervisor identifies and implements process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and the overall effectiveness of AP operations.
Job Functions:
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, including invoice review and coding, processing of employee expense reports, and execution of timely weekly payments
- Lead and mentor the Accounts Payable team, promoting a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous professional growth
- Prepare weekly check and ACH payment batches
- Assist with the set-up of wire payments as needed
- Maintain and strengthen vendor relationships by assisting the AP team in resolving payment disputes and inquiries
- Assist with the month-end close process, including accruals and reconciliations
- Maintain vendor master file for 1099 reporting requirements
- Identify key areas for operational improvement, implement efficiency-enhancing changes, and document processes, accordingly, providing training as needed to ensure successful integration
- Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as needed
Supervisor Responsibilities:
Supervision of the Accounts Payable team. Prior supervisory/management experience required.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
Position will work directly from the corporate office with minimal travel. Candidate must have the flexibility to work additional hours.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum five years of accounts payable experience required, preferably in related industry such as real estate, leasing, or telecommunications
- Minimum two years in a leadership role with proven ability to lead, manage and develop a team in a fast paced, high-volume environment
- Prior experience with NetSuite or comparable accounting systems, as well as Concur T&E, is preferred
- Experience managing accounts payable functions across multiple entities and utilizing various bank accounts is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs; familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively
- Ability to manage various priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented individual who thrives in challenging environments, capable of working both independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy
