
Supply Chain and Logistics Manager

Position Summary
The Supply Chain and Logistics Manager is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing an agile and responsive supply chain that seamlessly supports all sales channels: direct-to-consumer (DTC) e-commerce, wholesale, and Verve’s cafes. This role is critical in ensuring consistent product availability, exceptional freshness, and efficient delivery, regardless of how the customer chooses to purchase. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of multi-channel inventory management, diverse fulfillment strategies, and a passion for delivering a premium coffee experience through operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain Health & Accuracy of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) & Average Cost
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols
- Safely operates handling equipment including, but not limited to, pallet jack, forklift, walkie stacker, and ladder
Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support the company's overall business objectives.
- Forecast demand and plan inventory levels to optimize stock and minimize obsolescence.
- Identify and implement new technologies and processes to improve supply chain efficiency and visibility.
- Participate in the development of budgets for supply chain and logistics operations.
Procurement and Supplier Management:
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Evaluate and select new suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
Operations and Process Improvement:
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain and logistics (e.g., on-time delivery, inventory turnover, logistics costs).
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the supply chain and implement corrective actions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or others.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all logistics operations.
Inventory Management:
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Minimize waste and loss through effective inventory management practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Passion for specialty coffee and an understanding of its unique supply chain.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in supply chain management and logistics, with at least 1 year in a managerial role.
- Demonstrated experience specifically in an omni-channel retail or food & beverage environment is a plus.
- Proven experience managing inventory and fulfillment for both B2B (wholesale) and B2C (e-commerce, retail) operations.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, evolving omni-channel retail environment.
- Expertise in ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Order Management Systems (OMS), and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) – with a focus on their integration for omni-channel visibility.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize the omni-channel network.
- Strong leadership presence and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Basic Google Drive, Google Sheets, Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Proactive mindset, a problem solver with the ability to work independently and a strong attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

During the performance of duties, employees are expected to engage in regular communication, auditory perception, and reading tasks. This role is dynamic and involves prolonged periods of standing (or being on one's feet for up to 8 hours), walking, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and crouching throughout the shift. Additionally, employees will be required to lift products and packaging overhead and may frequently handle items weighing between 25 and 70 pounds. Essential vision capabilities for this role encompass close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Furthermore, adept finger and wrist dexterity are essential for successful performance in this position.
