Falls Church, VA

Operations & Business Support Generalist

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Location: On-site / Hybrid – Washington DC Metro Area

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Clearance: Must be able to obtain/hold up to a Secret clearance

Company Overview

IntelliDyne is a well-established government IT services provider supporting federal civilian and defense clients with Data Analytics, AI, IT modernization, cybersecurity, software development, and managed services. We are looking for a versatile, detail-oriented Operations & Business Support Generalist to help the COO drive operational excellence, support growth initiatives, and provide cross-functional backup across accounting and contracts.

Position Summary

This is a hands-on, high-visibility role for someone who wants exposure across the full business operations, growth/business development support, and corporate functions (accounting and contracts). The selected candidate must be organized, process-minded, comfortable with ambiguity, and eager to learn how a government contractor runs end-to-end. This role reports directly to the COO and will serve as a key operational right hand, with the opportunity to grow into a more senior operations, contracts, or program management role.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Support (Primary Focus)

  • Partner with the COO to organize, document, and improve internal operating processes (SOPs, workflows, dashboards, trackers).
  • Maintain and improve internal tools/systems used to track deliverables, staffing, compliance deadlines, and action items.
  • Prepare materials for leadership meetings, board updates, and internal reviews (status decks, metrics, agendas, minutes).
  • Track and follow up on open action items across departments to ensure accountability and timely closure.
  • Support corporate compliance activities (insurance renewals, license tracking, policy updates, CPARS/past performance documentation).

Growth & Process Support

  • Assist with proposal coordination: maintaining proposal calendars, formatting documents, compiling past performance and resumes, and tracking submission deadlines.
  • Help build and refine repeatable processes for capture and proposal management (templates, checklists, lessons-learned tracking).
  • Support market research and opportunity tracking (SAM.gov, GovWin, agency forecasts) under direction of the COO/BD lead.
  • Help coordinate teaming agreements, NDAs, and partner communications during capture efforts.

Accounting & Contracts Backup

  • Serve as cross-trained backup support to the Accounting and Contracts functions during PTO, leave, or peak workload periods.
  • Assist with basic accounting tasks such as reconciling expense reports, supporting timesheet/labor distribution review, and assisting with monthly close tasks under guidance.
  • Assist with contract administration tasks such as tracking CDRLs/deliverables, maintaining contract files, and monitoring period-of-performance and option dates.
  • Help ensure timely flow of information between Operations, Accounting, and Contracts to avoid bottlenecks when staff are unavailable.

General

  • Act as a flexible utility player who can pick up ad hoc projects and "whatever's needed" tasks for the COO.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline or automate manual processes across functions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in operations, project coordination, contracts, accounting, or business support — government contracting environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint); comfort learning new systems (ERP, CRM, proposal tools).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise discretion with sensitive/confidential information, and handle competing demands calmly.
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with FAR/DFARS, government contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF), or basic contracts administration.
  • Familiarity with government accounting concepts (DCAA compliance awareness, timekeeping, indirect rates) a plus.
  • Experience supporting proposal/capture efforts in a small-to-mid-size GovCon environment.
  • Experience with tools such as Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, GovWin, or SAM.gov.
  • PMP, CBAP, or similar certification (or interest in pursuing) a plus.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • The COO has a reliable partner who keeps operational processes organized and moving without constant oversight.
  • Growth/proposal efforts run on time and with consistent quality because of strong process support.
  • Accounting and contracts functions experience no disruption when primary staff are out, because this person can competently bridge the gap.

Why Join Us

This role offers broad exposure across a growing government services company, direct mentorship from the COO, and a clear path to grow into a leadership role in Operations, Contracts, or Program Management as the company scales.

As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
