We have an exciting opportunity to join our Engineering team in Sydney and are currently looking for a Senior Engineer to join the team.

In terms of our tech stack, we're hosted on AWS containerised with Docker. In these containers, we run our servers on Node.js connecting to DynamoDB. Our clients are built with TypeScript, PixiJS and use as few dependencies as possible.

What you will bring to the role:

• You have deep working experience with client-side web development technologies such as TypeScript or JavaScript, webpack/vite/jest/vitest.
• Though the role is clientside focused an understanding of client server communication patterns and standards is expected with some experience working on server side such as NodeJS being advantageous.
• While not mandatory, having prior experience with WebGL technologies such as PixiJS or Three.js along with GSAP or another animation library is an advantage. Experience, especially in the context of interactive visual applications, 2D game development, or animations using any other game engine (gadot, unity, unreal) is highly desirable.
• An ability to work with stakeholders prototyping and collaborating features to meet requirements while maintaining non functional application guidelines.
• Well rounded software engineering practices including, writing clean well-structured code, automated tests, and documentation.
• Strive to improve the codebase with an understanding of the underlying goals of existing strategies.
• Ensuring product features are being delivered effectively as measured by lead time, deployment frequency, change failure percentage, mean time to resolution and number of bugs in production.
• Experience designing a range of architecture patterns to fit the needs of the system. Exposure to game client specific patterns would be an advantage.
• Understanding of cloud development fundamentals (we are hosted on AWS).
• Containerisation (Docker and/or Kubernetes would be great).
• Strong fundamental knowledge of OO vs Functional programming paradigms
• Lead meetings, clearly communicate technical approaches, status, assess and mitigate risk.
• A collaborative approach to software engineering.
• Empathy and the willingness to coach and mentor team members.
