The Opportunity

Viant is seeking a Manager of Sales Strategy & Planning to help drive new business growth by elevating how we identify, position, and win new clients.

This role is focused on pre-sales strategy and execution—partnering closely with Sales and Solutions Engineering to develop tailored proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and strategic narratives that win new business. You will play a critical role in shaping how Viant shows up in competitive opportunities, while also building scalable frameworks that improve speed, consistency, and win rates across the organization.

This is a highly cross-functional role for someone who combines strategic thinking, storytelling, and operational rigor.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

New Business Strategy & Deal Support

  • Partner with Sales and Client Services leadership to support net-new business opportunities and high-priority pursuits
  • Conduct research on prospective clients, including business model, category dynamics, competitive landscape, and media maturity
  • Help shape deal strategy, positioning, and approach for new client pitches
  • Participate in client meetings and pitches, contributing strategic POVs and tailored recommendations

Proposal Development (RFP/RFI + Custom Pitches)

  • Lead development of custom proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and pitch materials for prospective clients
  • Translate client requirements into clear, differentiated solutions and narratives
  • Ensure proposals are both strategically compelling and operationally feasible

Partner with Product, Solutions Engineering, and Operations to incorporate the right capabilities into each response

Scalable Frameworks & Sales Infrastructure

  • Build and maintain standardized proposal frameworks, templates, and modular content to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Develop repeatable narratives by vertical, use case, and client type
  • Help systematize how Viant responds to RFPs and new business opportunities

Identify gaps in current proposal materials and proactively create content to address them

Market Intelligence & Positioning

  • Develop a strong understanding of Viant’s ideal customer profiles and how they map to our solutions
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive positioning, and client needs to inform proposal strategy
  • Help refine how Viant positions its identity, data, measurement, and AI capabilities in market

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Solutions Engineering, and Operations to bring together cohesive proposals
  • Act as a central coordinator for complex deal cycles, ensuring alignment across stakeholders
  • Surface client and market feedback to inform product and go-to-market strategy

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5–8+ years of experience in AdTech, digital media, strategy, consulting, or sales enablement
  • Experience supporting or leading RFP/RFI responses, proposals, or new business pitches
  • Strong ability to synthesize complex inputs into clear, compelling narratives
  • Experience working cross-functionally across Sales, Product, and Marketing
  • Strong research and analytical skills; able to quickly understand new industries and clients
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

Base compensation range: $140,000 - $200,000

In accordance with California law, the range provided is Viant’s reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role.  Final title and compensation for the position will be based on several factors including work experience and education.
