Accounting Manager

What you can expect as a Accounting Manager at Visiting Media:
In this role you will oversee full-cycle GAAP accounting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes, month-end close, revenue recognition, and expense allocations. This role will be instrumental in optimizing accounts payable, managing payroll and benefits administration, handling multi-state tax compliance, and supporting financial audits, while introducing AI-driven automation to streamline workflows and improve financial reporting. We anticipate some more of your overall responsibilities to be:

General Accounting & Financial Operations
- Oversee full-cycle GAAP accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Lead month-end close, including revenue recognition and expense allocations by functional category.
- Identify and implement AI-driven process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Participate in annual financial statement audits, ensuring audit readiness.
Payroll, Benefits, and Tax Compliance
- Oversee and process corporate payroll, including base pay, commissions, bonuses, and special payments, ensuring compliance with multi-state regulations across 32+ states.
- Maintain accurate payroll and benefits records in collaboration with People & Culture, ensuring compliance with W-2 reporting, ACA regulations, 1095 filings, workers' compensation, and state/local tax requirements.
- Administer and maintain 401(k) enrollment, reporting, and Form 5500 filings, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
- Manage sales tax compliance, including filing and remitting returns, while monitoring evolving tax regulations.
Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
- Manage and optimize the accounts payable function, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company policies.
- Maintain the vendor master list, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Oversee the approval process for vendor payments, ensuring alignment with company budget controls.
Process Optimization & AI-Driven Efficiency
- Identify opportunities to implement automation, AI-driven tools, and financial technology to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Work closely with finance leadership, operations, and revenue operations teams to optimize financial processes and support scalable growth.
What previous experience will likely set you for success:
- 5-8+ years of accounting experience, ideally with a mix of public and private accounting. CPA preferred.
- Experience with automation, AI-driven tools, and financial systems such as NetSuite, Bill.com, and Salesforce.
- Comfortable managing and optimizing financial workflows, reporting structures, and compliance requirements.
- Experienced in handling multi-state payroll, benefits, tax filings, and compliance.
