This role is work from home with a preference for candidates in the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Area.

What you can expect as a Senior Accountant at Visiting Media:

In this role you will oversee key aspects of revenue accounting and accounts receivable management while contributing to broader accounting functions. This role is central to ensuring the integrity of our revenue recognition processes, the efficiency of AR operations, and the overall accuracy of our financial records. Your solid foundation in accounting, proactive mindset, and strong interest in optimizing processes will be the key to your success. We anticipate some more of your overall responsibilities to be: 

  • Manage revenue accounting processes, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and accurate revenue recognition.
  • Oversee accounts receivable (AR) functions, including invoicing, collections, cash applications, and dispute resolution, with a focus on process efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including revenue and AR reconciliations, variance analysis, and journal entries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales and Customer Success, to ensure alignment on revenue and AR processes and policies.
  • Leverage systems like NetSuite and Tesorio to streamline workflows, enhance reporting, and provide actionable financial insights.
  • Monitor AR aging reports and revenue trends, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Contribute to the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support for other accounting functions, including accounts payable (AP), payroll, and general ledger (GL) activities.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvement across revenue and AR operations.
  • Mentor junior team members and contractors, fostering professional growth and operational excellence.

What previous experience will likely set you for success:

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Experience in revenue accounting and/or accounts receivable management, with a comprehensive understanding of related processes and best practices.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly NetSuite, and experience with tools like Tesorio.
  • Management experience with a demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree in Accounting (preferred).
  • CPA certification or progress toward certification is highly desirable.
