At Vital Farms, we’re proud of the diverse communities we serve and the stakeholders who help bring our purpose to life. We’re committed to fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment where every crew member feels valued. We see this as one of our greatest strengths - and your role is key to helping us build on it.

Your Role:

Reporting to the Manager, Learning & Development, the Learning & Development Specialist will be a key architect in shaping how our people learn, adapt, and excel in a rapidly evolving business and technology landscape. This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of business strategy, technology adoption, compliance, and performance enablement, ensuring crew have the knowledge and tools required to perform effectively in their roles today and adapt for tomorrow.

You will design & deliver learning experience related to functional upskilling and technical skills development (e.g., Sales training, compliance, financial upskilling, new systems and tools, and role-specific functional skills development) across the organization. You will partner closely with IT, Legal, Compliance, HR, and business unit leaders to assess needs, develop scalable learning solutions, and support teams in building clear, role-based learning pathways.

You will also take primary ownership of our L&D tech stack: administrating platforms, managing vendor partnerships, and continuously evaluating learning technologies to optimize effectiveness and innovate how we learn at scale.

Your work will be central to enabling functional excellence and operational readiness across the business.

What You'll Do:

Design & Deliver High-Impact Learning Solutions

  • Lead the end-to-end creation of technical and functional learning experiences that accelerate proficiency in key business systems, tools, and skills.
  • Build structured, role-based learning paths that support performance in critical functions (e.g., Sales, IT, Operations, Compliance) and future-focused competencies.

L&D Tech Stack Ownership

  • Serve as the primary owner of our learning technology ecosystem, including platform administration, configuration, user support, and reporting.
  • Manage relationships with learning tech vendors, evaluate new tools, and recommend opportunities to optimize our tech stack to anticipate future learning needs.

Compliance, Ethics & Risk Training

  • Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, IT, and People Team to design and deliver training related to regulatory or risk-based requirements.
  • Ensure training is engaging, relevant, and effective while meeting documentation, tracking, and compliance standards.
  • Support ongoing updates to content as regulations, policies, and risks evolve.

Stakeholder Partnership & Needs Assessment

  • Collaborate with functional stakeholders to identify skill gaps and strategic priorities.
  • Conduct needs assessments using data, stakeholder input, and learner feedback to design targeted, high-impact learning solutions aligned with business priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to functional leaders building training for their teams.

Facilitation & Enablement

  • Facilitate engaging learning experiences for diverse audiences, from individual contributors to senior leaders, using in-person, virtual, and hybrid delivery methods as appropriate.
  • Support subject matter experts by helping translate complex or technical content into clear, learner-centered training materials.

Project Management & Execution

  • Manage the end-to-end execution of learning initiatives, including project planning, timelines, content development, vendor coordination (as needed), communications, and logistics.
  • Partner with L&D leadership to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining a thoughtful, prioritized learning calendar.
  • Support general L&D initiatives as needed, while maintaining primary ownership of functional and technical upskilling.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Track program outcomes, adoption metrics, and tech utilization to gauge impact and inform iterative improvement.
  • Continuously refine content, delivery methods, and tech tools to stay ahead of changing business needs

Learning Operations & Team Enablement

  • Contribute to the smooth execution of L&D programs by supporting calendar management, learner communications, and training logistics.
  • Partner on learning event execution (virtual and in-person), including scheduling, materials preparation, and post-event follow-up.
  • Administer learning surveys and assessments, compile results, and contribute to light reporting and insights on participation, completion, and learner feedback.
  • Flex to support essential administrative and operational tasks that enable high-impact learning strategy and delivery.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • 3+ years in Learning & Development, training design, instructional design, or related fields, with demonstrable experience driving functional and technical upskilling.
  • Ability to travel 30-40% for trainings, company events, and Onboarding experiences, including commutable distance to a major airport
  • Demonstrated success with learning technologies, LMS platforms (360 Learning experience a plus), course authoring tools, and measurement/reporting frameworks.
  • Skilled at translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable learning experiences.
  • Exceptional communicator who builds strong partnerships across business unites.
  • A design thinker who champions learner-centric solutions and isn’t afraid to experiment with new tools, technologies, and approaches.
  • Strategic yet practical: able to balance big-picture impact with high-quality execution.
  • Comfortable using data to understand learning impact, iterate quickly, and report meaningful insights to senior stakeholders.
  • You’re no hero – You know the power of teamwork and celebrate the work of others before your own.
  • You give a sh*t – You believe in acting like an owner and making Vital Farms a place to be proud of.
  • You raise the standards – You know growth can be hard, but you strive to improve yourself and others each day.
  • You can walk in someone else’s boots – You seek to understand other’s viewpoints and think that you get to better answers by sitting on the same side of the table.
  • You don’t walk on eggshells – You’re not afraid to leave the bullsh*t behind and have honest conversations.
  • We recognize that talent comes in many forms. Even if you don’t meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply. You may have strengths we haven’t yet considered!

What We Bring to the Table:

  • A fast-paced, energetic, remote environment with passionate people who are leading a movement to bring ethically produced food to the table.

  • Generous retirement contributions: 401(k) + 3% Contribution from Day 1.
  • Free eggs and butter (yes, really!), along with friends and family discounts.
  • Fun team SWAG that will make you the talk of the town.
  • Professional development opportunities and an amazing team dedicated to your growth.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
