Job Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Apprenticeship

What you will do:

As the Vonage SDET Apprentice, you will drive continuous quality, testability, and security across the software development lifecycle. This involves participating in application development and building quality through automated testing suites, from code development to functionality. A core part of your role is to design, develop, and maintain automated frameworks, test suites, and scripts for continuous integration, testing, deployment, and delivery, collaborating with world-class engineers to relentlessly innovate in automation. Familiarity with Web Design would be helpful.

This will be a 12 month apprenticeship position. You must be currently based in Bangalore or be willing to  work hybrid in our Bangalore office (WeWork, Roshini Tech Hub, PFS Club House, Marathahalli Main Rd, R.J.Gardens, Lakshminarayana Pura, EPIP Zone, Chinnapanna Halli Bengaluru, Karnataka 560037)

Requirements:

  • Educational Qualifications: Should have completed BE/B.Tech in Computer Science or Computer Engineering ( any specialization like AI/ML etc ) , or Electronics & Communications Engineering. 
  • Important note: Candidates must be able to join Vonage full time on the 5th August 2026 as a mandatory requirement. We are looking for candidates who have already graduated from University and can provide a copy of their Provisional Degree Certificate.
  • Location: Please note, we are looking for candidates already located in Bangalore and do not need to relocate
  • GPA: We are strictly looking for candidates with a GPA of 8.0 or above
  • Age Requirement: Must meet minimum legal age for apprenticeship programs as per local labour laws.
  • Communication Skills: Strong English verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Eagerness to Learn: Enthusiastic about acquiring new skills and knowledge in the field.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from senior staff.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive attitude and willingness to tackle challenges.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and quality in task execution.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient coding skills with a strong understanding of test automation, testing methodologies, and experience with testing tools and frameworks, in addition to algorithms and software development best practices.
  • Work timings : Certain roles may require an alignment with the UK timezone ( For ex. from 2.00 PM up to 10.30/11.00 PM India)

  • Remuneration : This is a 12 month Apprenticeship position paying INR 50,000 per month. The position will not be eligible for any other benefits.

Hiring Process:

  • Application Stage - You will submit your application and answer a few initial filtering questions to assess basic eligibility.
  • Initial Filtering - Our TA Partners will review all applications. Suitable candidates will progress to the Codility Test (Online technical test). 
  • Codility Test - Candidates are required to complete a Codility Test within 3 days. 
  • TA Screening - A screening call will be conducted with the selected candidates who clear the codility test 
  • In-Person evaluation:
    • 30-minute welcome and introduction by India Site Leader.
    • 60-minute Coding Pen & Paper Exercise to evaluate coding language & problem-solving skills.
    • 30-minute follow-up technical interview .
