Position Summary

The Corporate Controller will play a pivotal role in timely and accurate financial statements for Voxie. This individual will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of accounting, including but not limited to month end close, working capital management, financial statement preparation, finance operations, and audit preparedness. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of GAAP accounting, experience in a fast paced startup environment, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to drive results.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist team and perform review for monthly close activities for all subscription & consumption revenue 
  • Have ownership and accountability for accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness and efficiency of all processes related to revenue including review of contracts, accounting policies and memos, month-end close, deferred revenue, accounts receivable, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Responsible for monthly invoicing and related collections and customer inquiries for all subscription & services billings
  • Review and provide feedback on customer contracts, assess accounting implications and confirm we can operationally support agreements
  • Lead the preparation of annual audit schedules
  • Perform special, ad-hoc projects in Accounting/Finance as requested
  • Timely and accurate execution of monthly revenue and bonuses/commissions (all company)
  • Own Order to Cash process (pricing to cash collection assistance in Stripe and Quickbooks Online)
  • Reconcile multi location customer revenue and monthly recurring revenue inclusive of pricing collaboration with sales and CS
  • Collaborate cross functionally with business partners, including sales and customer service, during contract negotiations and provide accounting guidance in order to ensure proper revenue recognition
  • Review revenue contracts in detail, identifying and documenting any non-standard terms to ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with company policy
  • Participate in Zendesk billing inquiries from both internal and external customers
  • Participate in QuickBooks online and Stripe system enhancements, ad hoc analyses, and other special projects as needed
  • Develop scalable revenue accounting processes and drive process improvements and automations with cross-functional business partners
  • Analyze historical revenue data and trends to provide insights and forecasts
  • Implement and document processes and procedures as required including Sales Tax compliance

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting
  • Proficiency in financial management and budgeting
  • Experience with Quickbooks, Stripe, and HRIS systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Estimated salary range of $100,000-$130,000
