Job Summary:
In support of Voyager’s growth, we are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join the HR operations team. This role will support the Payroll Manager in reviewing timecard data for accuracy while working with the HR Leadership team to ensure timely payroll processing. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and an understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews timecard data prior to payroll submission, investigates root cause of errors, and ensures accuracy of the data
- Works with other members on the HR team to ensure a smooth payroll cycle and timely transactions
- Works with third party payroll provider, ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations (e.g., taxes, payment upon terminations, deductions, etc.)
- Compiles periodic reports for payroll, worker’s compensation, and special management requests
- Interacts with and communicates with all levels of employees within the Company
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
- Supports Payroll Manager as a backup for payroll processing duties as needed
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience
- Understanding of multi-state payroll processing
- Proficiency with Excel – creating spreadsheets, formulas, pivot tables, etc.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in related field
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Experience with NetSuite
- Candidates residing within Mountain or Pacific time zone
