Senior Android Mobile Engineer

Los Angeles, CA

About Wellth:

Use your engineering experience to help people live healthier

Wellth is a fast-growing digital health startup headquartered in Los Angeles that recently raised a Series B from leading investors, including SignalFire. Our mission is to provide daily care motivation to people living with chronic conditions so they can make healthier choices every day.

We don’t assume that just providing a tool or a beautiful app will get results. We use behavioral economics, habit science, and technology to motivate and sustain behavior change in some of the US's highest-need and most underserved populations (think Medicaid and Medicare), drastically changing their quality of life and health outcomes. We have demonstrated results with several large insurers and health systems (e.g., reducing hospitalizations by over 40%) and are scaling the company and team. We aim to be the category leader in improving health outcomes for hard-to-engage populations.

Our work saves lives every day. We are a mission-driven company where you work with incredible talent and see tangible differences directly from your impact and influence.

You have the opportunity to build systems that drive daily healthy habit experiences

Specifically, you will:

  • Design, build, test, launch, monitor, and support features in our Android mobile application to motivate patients to achieve better health and earn rewards.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to shape and implement technical roadmaps for Android development.
  • Build and optimize application performance, implementing best practices for offline support, memory management, and responsiveness.
  • Uphold high standards for code quality and testing, implementing strategies to maintain a high-quality bar to achieve a delightful app experience, allowing us to maintain or exceed our 4.8+ star rating in the Google Play Store.
  • Be one of the team’s leaders who has strong opinions, loosely held, with an ego-less, highly-collaborative, servant-leadership mentality.
  • Protect privacy by following secure SDLC guidelines to maintain our HITRUST certification.

You will be a member of a diverse and supportive team.

You will work with:

  • Front-end and back-end engineers to develop a seamless, high-quality native Android app that integrates effectively and efficiently with backend systems.
  • Quality engineers to build a testable system that is continuously integrated and delivered reliably.
  • Product Managers and Designers to shape the app’s user experience, providing technical guidance on Android capabilities and constraints.
  • Android Engineers to ensure a consistent and seamless user experience across our native mobile apps, leveraging your Android expertise.
  • Various internal teams to refine the app, ensuring it meets diverse user requirements and supports broader business priorities.
  • Senior Engineering Manager on your career development, supporting your technical and leadership growth.

You might be the candidate we’re looking for.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We expect our candidates to:

  • Operate with autonomy
  • Influence without authority

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
