Position Overview
The Manager Infusion Nurse is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and assignment of patient care for an assigned team of Registered Nurses, LPNs, and assistants. This role encompasses assessment of referrals, patient case management, adherence to standards of practice, staff assignments, staff development, quality improvement, and communication with all members of the interdisciplinary team. The Manager Infusion Nurse ensures compliance with West Cancer Center policies, Medicare requirements, and accrediting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate all clinical activities to meet company goals and objectives
- Ensure staff assignments align with patient Plans of Care and regulatory requirements
- Promote quality of care, cost-effectiveness, and efficient service delivery
- Oversee completion and timeliness of patient documentation
- Participate in policy and program development
- Hire, train, develop, and retain a competent and engaged nursing staff
- Implement processes to assess and maintain staff competence through ongoing training
- Plan and manage fiscal and human resources effectively
- Lead and motivate the nursing care team toward professional excellence
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational policies and regulations
- Provide direct patient care when needed
- Maintain required documentation for research studies and administer chemotherapy for research trials as needed
- Assist the Director with payroll and timekeeping for clinical nursing staff
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Required:
- Graduate of a nursing program
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
- Current Tennessee RN license
- BLS Certification (required for all new hires and transfers)
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Two years’ experience in a lead or supervisory position
