Overnight Kennel Assistant

Four Paws Pet Hotel & Resort is seeking am Overnight Kennel Assistant to join our team! Our Junor Staff Member team is dedicated to maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, clients, and staff.  

 

In this role, you will be responsible for patient husbandry, boarding care, and general housekeeping throughout the facility. You will provide meals, medications as directed and walks for boarding patients; oversee dogs in daycare; and closely monitor patients for any medical, behavioral, or environmental concerns. You’ll maintain detailed documentation of your observations and communicate any concerns promptly to the veterinary team.

You will also help ensure kennels, common areas, treatment spaces, and other facility areas are clean, sanitized, organized, and well stocked with necessary supplies. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring facility cameras to help ensure the safety and well-being of boarding and daycare patients, identifying potential concerns and alerting the appropriate team members when needed.

 

Schedule and compensation:

  • Compensation: $17.50 per hour, for each hour worked
  • This is a part-time, overnight position, availability needed on Thursdays from 11pm - 8am. This position has the potential to be a full-time position in the future.

Your qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience as a veterinary kennel assistant / kennel technician preferred
    • Will consider related experience within animal care such as boarding / doggy daycare attendant, FFA or 4H background
  • A genuine passion for animal care and patient wellbeing
  • Confidence working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
    • Ability to safely handle, restrain, walk, and monitor animals under supervision
    • Strong awareness of animal behavior and willingness to learn patient safety and handling techniques
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
  • Ability to stay organized and maintain a clean, safe environment
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of a hands-on animal care role
  • Ability to stay attentive overnight monitoring facility cameras and communicate patient concerns to the veterinary team
