Nice to have
Tax Analyst - Affirmative Position for Women
São Paulo
About the team
Tax sits inside Finance, not in a legal silo. That means our work doesn't stop at the technical opinion: we follow it through to the numbers, the cash, and the business decision it supports. We are a small, collaborative team of five that treats technical disagreement as part of the job, and we work daily with Legal, Accounting, FP&A, and Business Development.
Why this role exists
Our tax consultancy, litigation, and audit-defense work has outgrown the current team. We are hiring someone who already owns Brazilian tax law and controversy end-to-end, so that this scope stops being a bottleneck and starts being a capability. This is a role for someone who wants their domestic expertise to be the foundation, not the ceiling. The growth path here runs through international tax, corporate restructuring, and transfer pricing.

What you'll do
- Lead internal tax consultancy on Brazilian legislation: answer the business's questions on indirect and direct taxes, produce the technical position, and stand behind it.
- Own the tax litigation portfolio, administrative and judicial. Build the technical thesis, draft and coordinate impugnações and recursos with external counsel, and decide where each dispute is best resolved: administratively, in court, or through settlement programs (transação tributária, editais, amnesties).
- Run tax audits (fiscalizações) from the first intimação to the outcome: control what is produced and what is not, manage the relationship with the auditor, and protect the company's position.
- Support perícias judiciais and technical expert examinations, working with our external advisors.
- Classify and defend tax contingencies (remote / possible / probable) with external counsel and auditors, and keep the portfolio view current for leadership.
- Identify and execute recovery and incentive opportunities: credits, refunds, and planning positions with real, quantified impact.
- Translate tax into business language. Write memos and updates a non-specialist can act on, flag emerging legislation and case law early, and make sure the right people hear about it before it becomes a problem.
- Grow into international scope: cross-border restructuring projects, international tax legislation, and transfer pricing, on live transactions rather than in theory.
What you need to have
- Law degree;
- Fluent English;
- Solid command of Brazilian tax legislation. This is non-negotiable;
- Hands-on experience in tax controversy: judicial proceedings, administrative litigation, and audits (fiscalizações). You have personally built arguments that changed an outcome;
- Execution and ownership. You scope your work, deliver on time, raise blockers early, and keep quality high without overcomplicating;
- Structured problem-solving. You break large, ambiguous problems into parts and test solutions step by step;
- Clear, transparent communication. Short written updates, explicit reasoning, no surprises;
- Analytical reasoning. You validate positions with data and can defend a number;
- Time management and prioritization. When a statutory deadline, an audit response, and an internal request collide, you make a call, and you tell the people affected.
Nice to have
- Law firm experience;
- International tax legislation;
- Corporate restructuring and M&A, domestic and cross-border;
- Transfer pricing concepts, rules, and calculations;
- Comfort using AI tools in technical and organizational work. We use them, and we're interested in how you do.
