We are looking for an experienced Python Software Engineer to strengthen our Agentic AI Platform team. As a Python Software Engineer you will join an innovative product team in our Intelligent Process Automation/BPO value stream within Backbase R&D. Your main focus will be the backend development of our Agent Studio product. 

With Backbase Agent Studio, part of the Agentic AI Platform, users can visually compose, deploy and test their AI Agents, multi-agent Workflows and Teams of agents.

Meet the Job

As part of the team, you will contribute to new and existing functionalities, proof of concepts, and technical improvements that will be implemented in Agent Studio. Your autonomous team is responsible for the entire software development life cycle for the Agentic AI Platform: from idea to release. You are expected to take ownership of what you build and proactively collaborate with architects, QA engineers, DevOps, and other team members to ensure implementation is done according to our technical vision and best practices.

We offer a hybrid working model which is a location-flexible arrangement that allows people to combine on-site and off-site work.

How about you?

  • You have 4+ years of relevant working experience working on complex software products;
  • Proficiency in programming in Python;
  • You have a solid background in software development including solution design;
  • You have experience with non-functionals such as security, performance, scalability etc.;
  • You have a solid understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns;
  • 1+ year of work experience with implementing Generative AI applications leveraging composable frameworks (e.g. Agno, LangChain/LangGraph, LlamaIndex, DSPy);
  • Experience working with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP);
  • Proven problem-solver and fast learner;
  • Knowledgeable of relational databases (PostgreSQL);
  • Experience in full stack development is a plus;
  • You are able to communicate clearly and confidently across all levels to get buy-ins from technical stakeholders as well as from your team members;
  • Experience in the banking domain or Fintech products will be considered an advantage;
  • You have excellent communication skills in English, spoken and written.
