Job Description

 

We are looking for an experienced .NET Software Engineer with strong expertise in the Microsoft .NET ecosystem - including ASP.NET Web Forms, .NET Framework, and .NET Core to join our development team. You will contribute to building and maintaining applications that support educational travel experiences for students worldwide, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software across both legacy and modern .NET platforms.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in enhancing the digital experience for our customers - students, parents, and educators - by applying deep .NET expertise alongside Sitecore capabilities. You will have a direct impact on the company's mission to create life-changing learning opportunities through travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full Stack .NET Development: Design, develop, and maintain web applications across both ASP.NET Web Forms and ASP.NET MVC/Core, leveraging C#, SQL Server, and Entity Framework.
  • Web Forms Maintenance & Modernization: Maintain and enhance existing ASP.NET Web Forms applications while supporting incremental migration efforts toward .NET Core and modern web patterns where applicable.
  • Sitecore CMS Development: Develop and maintain Sitecore-based solutions including template creation, rendering development, workflow configuration, and integration with .NET back-end services.
  • API Development: Build and maintain RESTful APIs and web services to support application integrations, data exchange, and third-party platform connectivity.
  • Database Development: Write and optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models in SQL Server to support application functionality and reporting needs.
  • Cloud Integration: Contribute to Microsoft Azure-hosted solutions, supporting deployment, monitoring, and scalability of .NET applications.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Work with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and UX/UI Designers to translate requirements into technical solutions. Participate in code reviews and support junior developers.
  • Agile Methodologies: Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings.
  • Testing & Deployment: Ensure code quality through unit and integration testing and support CI/CD deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitLab.
  • Code Quality & Documentation: Write clean, maintainable code and maintain thorough technical documentation in accordance with team standards and version control best practices.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across .NET applications, Sitecore environments, and production systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in .NET software development, with strong hands-on experience across both .NET Framework and .NET Core.
  • Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NET MVC/Web API, SQL Server, and Entity Framework.
  • Solid experience developing and maintaining ASP.NET Web Forms applications, including user controls, code-behind patterns, ViewState management, and page lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of Sitecore CMS, including template and rendering development, content tree management, and integration with .NET applications.
  • Experience with T-SQL, including writing stored procedures, views, and complex queries in SQL Server.
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery, with familiarity in modern frameworks like React or Angular.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services and cloud deployment models.
  • Experience with RESTful API and SOAP web service development and integration.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control using Git.
  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex, multi-tier .NET environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Sitecore XM Cloud or Sitecore Headless (JSS) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with modernizing or re-platforming legacy Web Forms applications to .NET Core or MVC.
  • Previous experience in the travel or educational services industries.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and API gateway patterns.
  • Experience with caching strategies and solutions such as Redis or SQL Server caching.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of application security best practices in a .NET environment.
