European Director - Reckitt
Role Summary and Impact
This role sits within the Client Leadership team, reporting into the Senior Client Partner – working in close partnership with Strategy / Operations / Data, Tech and Analytics as well as local market senior contacts.
Reckitt has a brand new operating model focused on delivering central strategies which will then be tailored at a regional level before being activated locally.
A key part of the role of the Director will be to work hand in hand with the Strategy Leads, to deliver central strategies across Reckitt’s 4 categories (and 9x powerbrands) adhering to the new ways of working / operating model, and connecting seamlessly with the creative agencies centrally as well as WPP regional clusters and local markets to ensure the central approaches are embedded successfully. The Director will be the key point of contact for the Reckitt Comms planners / Brand teams, alongside the Strategic Lead and will own the process from brief to campaign completion.
With any new model, we expect there to be bumps in the road, so the expectation will be that the Director is able to share any learnings across the team so the process can be optimised for future briefs / years.
In conjunction with a new operating model, there is also a new Operating System – in WPP Open. Part of the Director’s role will also be to ensure that WPP Open is being used comprehensively across Central / Regional and Local teams to deliver consistent output, underpinned by a consistent suite of tools.
Beyond delivering strategic responses and ensuring the successful roll out / adoption of WPP Open, the Director will be responsible for network management (from leading network calls, establishing 1:1 relationships with all key clusters and collating best practice) as well as supporting on relevant strategic projects throughout the year. These may include partnering with our Commerce team to define Reckitt’s GTM approach to developing a thought leadership calendar, arranging in person workshops or summits or even supporting in relevant WPP / WPP media pitches (in relation to the Reckitt business).
The successful candidate must be confident in senior client relationship management, digital and data led planning and agency team operations and commercial management. The candidate for the role would ideally have a range of client and category experience, demonstrating strong analytical capabilities and the strong emotional intelligence and gravitas to lead matrix clients and agency teams.

- Media agency experience in both strategic and performance environments
- Strong analytical skills
- A depth of experience in client management and matrix organisation management
- Experience of the latest digital media solutions, from Amazon to programmatic, Influencers to Social, but be able to think and represent across the whole media mix, including TV, outdoor, sponsorship, partnerships and beyond
- Strong knowledge of eCommerce
- An understanding of the right strategic balance between eCommerce and brand investment, and the quantification of those strategies
- Have demonstrable experience of running large pieces of business across either a market, regional or global remit
- Be a confident interpreter of data and insight
- Have exceptional client relationship building skills
- An ability to lead multiple internal stakeholders at all levels across multiple disciplines
