Role Summary and Impact

This is a pivotal role within WPP Media's Data & Technology Practice, sitting at the intersection of technical delivery and client partnership. As Manager, you will own the end-to-end build of data products for one or more major client accounts — ensuring that the pipelines, models and dashboards you deliver are not just functional, but accurate, reliable and genuinely valuable to the people using them.

You will be the person clients trust to understand their reporting needs, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver against deadlines without needing to be chased. Internally, you'll line manage and mentor Senior Analysts, helping to raise the standard of work across the team and build a culture where data quality is non-negotiable.

The impact of this role is tangible: the dashboards and data products you build directly shape how clients understand their media investment and make decisions

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Solution & ETL Management: 

Support the development and implementation of advanced data solutions, automated reporting, and predictive methodologies. This includes overseeing and validating the successful execution of daily ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and integrating new data sources (including schema expansion and dashboard integration).

  • Marketing Effectiveness & Strategic Impact:

Act as a key owner for Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) processes, ensuring robust data inputs and methodological integrity. Lead critical data submission for key client effectiveness studies.

  • Data Integrity & Governance: 

Proactively diagnose and remediate data pipeline malfunctions and quality discrepancies.

  • Business Intelligence Dashboard Optimization

Perform routine maintenance, updates, and optimization of reporting dashboards in PowerBI to ensure accuracy, relevance, and optimal performance for internal and client use.

  • Client & Stakeholder Leadership:

Act as a key contact for assigned clients, supporting their roadmaps, contributing to client calls, and collaborating with varied client and activation teams. You will define, document, and articulate complex data-related processes and best practices, driving the adoption of dashboard solutions and translating insights into compelling narratives about business value.

  • Data Pipeline & Transformation: 

Capture, clean, and transform complex data from activation platforms into Cloud storage solutions, ensuring data integrity and accessibility across the entire digital advertising lifecycle.

  • Team Collaboration & Coordination: 

Work with a variety of internal teams to understand their requirements & educate and roll-out the tools available.

  • Operational Excellence: 

Efficiently manage workload via our Wrike ticketing system, adhering to defined SLAs and stakeholder communication guidelines.

What you will need

Client Account Management

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and communicate to stakeholders
  • Ability to break down complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong collaborative team working.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to learn from others and share your own knowledge.

Operating and Technical Skills

Must haves:

  • Proficient in Python and SQL for building, maintaining, and optimising data tools and pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI for developing and managing reports and dashboards.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, specifically Azure and/or GCP.
  • Solid understanding of Git and version control best practices.
  • Experience with ETL pipelines and data workflow management.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to database automation and workflow optimisation.
  • Familiarity with Agile ways of working.
