Role summary

WPP Media Solutions is building and scaling a global Commerce Solutions capability that helps clients deliver measurable commerce outcomes through media - connecting audiences, channels, data, and measurement to drive real-world business performance.

The Director, Integrated Commerce will drive the design, implementation, and scaling of commerce-focused solutions across priority markets, with a strong emphasis on turning proven approaches into repeatable deployments and evolving the offering into new areas of commerce and retail media.

This is a highly cross-functional, global role - ideal for a self-starter who thrives with a reasonable amount of autonomy, can create clarity in ambiguity, and confidently collaborate across markets, cultures, and time zones.

Key responsibilities

1) Scale Commerce Solutions across priority markets

  • Drive global rollout planning and market enablement for established Commerce Solutions capabilities, ensuring they are easy to adopt locally and consistent in quality.
  • Translate global approaches into market-ready guides: positioning, packaging, activation requirements, delivery workflow, and measurement standards.
  • Partner with regional and local teams to accelerate adoption and ensure opportunities convert into live activity.

2) Deliver solution design and implementation (end-to-end)

  • Design outcome-led solutions that connect media strategy, audience/data inputs, activation, and measurement into a cohesive delivery model.
  • Coordinate cross-functional implementation with channel teams, analytics/measurement, operations, and partner/vendor stakeholders.
  • Identify operational blockers and drive resolution -improving processes, clarifying ownership, and enabling repeatable delivery.

3) Drive business outcomes and measurable impact

  • Ensure solutions are designed around clear client outcomes such as:
  • Increasing in-store visits and real-world engagement
  • Driving incremental sales performance (in-store and/or online)
  • Improving purchase intent and conversion behaviors
  • Strengthening planning and optimization through better commerce insights
  • Champion a consistent approach to performance tracking, learning agendas, and campaign-to-campaign optimization.

4) Build a “Test, Scale, Innovate” operating rhythm

  • Establish a clear operating cadence across global and markets to:
  • Progress new solution concepts from early-stage testing into repeatable offerings
  • Industrialize solutions that have demonstrated impact, so they scale efficiently
  • Identify and shape innovation opportunities as commerce and retail media evolves
  • Lead workshops and working sessions that move work forward—aligning stakeholders, decisions, and actions.

5) Commercial enablement and growth

  • Partner with client strategy teams and markets to proactively bring Commerce Solutions into client conversations (moving from reactive to planned, outcome-led engagement).
  • Support development of sales narratives, credentials, and case studies that communicate value clearly without overcomplication.
  • Focus effort on the most material opportunities and create a scalable pathway from pitch → pilot → repeatable adoption.

6) Stakeholder management and global collaboration

  • Build strong working relationships across global, regional, and market teams—operating effectively across different time zones and ways of working.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, from specialists to senior leadership.

What success looks like (first 6–12 months)

  • Increased adoption of Commerce Solutions across priority markets through clearer enablement, smoother delivery, and stronger stakeholder alignment.
  • More consistent conversion of market interest into activated programs with measurable outcomes.
  • A repeatable global operating cadence that accelerates delivery and strengthens learning loops.
  • Clear progression of innovation initiatives into defined pilots and scalable next steps.

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience designing and scaling commerce, retail media, performance media, data-led media, or measurement-driven solutions across multiple markets/regions.
  • Strong understanding of omnichannel performance measurement and how media can influence real-world business outcomes.
  • Experience working with data, technology, and measurement partners to enable audience strategy, activation, and effectiveness measurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional programs - aligning stakeholders, managing dependencies, and delivering at pace.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills - able to make complex solutions easy to understand and easy to adopt.
  • High autonomy: proactive, organized, and comfortable operating with ambiguity and limited day-to-day direction.
  • Flexibility to collaborate across global time zones.

Personal attributes

  • Self-starter: takes initiative, creates structure, and drives momentum.
  • Commercial mindset: prioritizes what will drive adoption and growth.
  • Collaborative leader: influences without formal authority.
  • Adaptable: able to tailor approaches to different market contexts and client needs.

Why this role

This role offers the chance to shape and scale a global Commerce Solutions capability within WPP Media Solutions - helping teams and clients unlock measurable commerce outcomes through media, while contributing to the future direction of commerce and retail media innovation.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
