This role is within EssenceMediacom:

Google has consolidated its media agency partnership into WPP Media, building on more than 15 years of world-class digital work delivered by EssenceMediacom.

About the Role

EssenceMediacom is seeking a Supervisor, SEO & Generative Search Optimization, to join the Organic Search team and support the day-to-day strategy, recommendations, and execution of SEO and GSO across a portfolio of Google products and services in the U.S., in partnership with global team members across EMEA and APAC. As search behavior continues to evolve beyond traditional results pages, this role will help strengthen visibility across Google Search, AI-powered search experiences, LLM platforms, and answer engines by improving technical readiness, content authority, entity clarity, and brand representation. In line with MFG’s expectations for Supervisor-level talent, this role is responsible for scaling the “how” and “why” of SEO/GSO through others, maintaining a high standard of team-led delivery, translating complex findings into client-ready narratives, supporting measurement frameworks for emerging AI visibility, and serving as a secondary point of contact for external-facing work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop a strong understanding of Google’s products, business goals, audiences, and search landscape to inform SEO and GSO strategy.
  • Build SEO and GSO strategies grounded in competitive context, keyword/topic/entity research, audience intent, and emerging AI search behaviors.
  • Assess technical, content, and entity signals to develop actionable, client-ready SEO and GSO recommendations aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage implementation workflows for technical and content recommendations, including developer alignment, QA oversight, bug-ticket management, and follow-through on priority fixes.
  • Manage end-to-end technical SEO for site migrations, including pre-launch audit validation, comprehensive redirect mapping, and post-launch performance monitoring to safeguard organic visibility and search authority.
  • Support SEO, GSO, AI, and LLM visibility measurement frameworks, reporting inputs, dashboards, and performance narratives.
  • Support client engagement by co-presenting tactical updates, drafting client communications, and maintaining engagement documentation and roadmaps as a secondary point of contact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including SEM, Analytics, and Engineering) and Organic Search Leadership to advance integrated Total Search strategies, scopes of work, and account planning.
  • Drive operational excellence through resource coordination, project management, quality control, and team-led delivery.
  • Coach junior team members, helping them understand the technical and strategic context behind recommendations and build greater autonomy over time.
  • Create or support industry updates, AI Search POVs, GSO frameworks, standardized approaches, process documentation, roadmap updates, and client-ready engagement materials.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • 3+ years of organic search experience (agency preferred), with a proven track record of managing implementation workflows, technical QA, and cross-functional collaboration with SEM, Analytics, and Engineering teams.
  • Deep expertise in SEO fundamentals (technical, content, structured data, entity
signals) and emerging AI search/LLM trends and their impact on brand discoverability.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience working with large datasets, maintaining data integrity, and translating insights into KPIs, performance narratives, and optimization decisions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical/measurement findings into clear business narratives and client-ready documentation.
  • Proven expertise in leading large-scale technical SEO site migrations, with a deep understanding of redirect strategies, architectural health, and risk mitigation to ensure seamless transitions for complex digital environments.
  • Familiarity with industry and productivity tools, including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Keyword Planner, Lumar, Screaming Frog, and Google Workspace products.
  • Interest in mentoring junior team members and providing clear, actionable feedback that helps others build autonomy and improve quality.
  • A collaborative, proactive, and learning-oriented mindset, with the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and contribute to process improvements, automation, AI Search education, and team initiatives.v

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
