About the Role

As a Proposal and Capture Analyst at xAI on our USG team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our U.S. Government business. You will partner with business development and technical counterparts to generate and manage high-quality proposals and other materials that secure contracts, as well as identify new growth opportunities. With a keen eye for detail and exceptional communication skills, you’ll transform complex technical concepts into engaging proposals, white papers, project vision statements, and other business documents.

You will lead the end-to-end lifecycle of proposals from opportunity identification and capture planning through submission. Translating complex AI and technical concepts into clear, strategic narratives. Your work will directly support national security and public-sector innovation by aligning xAI’s cutting-edge capabilities with government priorities.

In this role, you'll tackle challenges requiring detail-oriented execution, rapid adaptation, and the ability to synthesize inputs into compelling narratives that advance xAI's mission in the USG space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Author: Develop high-quality, tailored responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and other government solicitations
  • End-to-End Project Management: Coordinate with cross-functional teams (BD, engineering, legal, finance) to manage proposal development from initiation to final submission
  • Opportunity Research & Qualification: Conduct market and agency research to support pipeline development and qualification of new business opportunities
  • Knowledge Management: Create and maintain reusable templates, content libraries, and process documentation to support scalable and repeatable capture efforts
  • Strategic Alignment: Translate technical capabilities into language that aligns with government requirements, mission needs, and acquisition strategy

Core Competencies:

  • Experience with U.S. Government proposal and capture processes
  • High attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience excelling in a team environment working with counterparts across departments/agencies/roles, and synthesizing input from multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to hold a high bar in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to rapidly grasp technical concepts and learn proactively with minimal guidance
  • Passion for advancing AI solutions in government contexts, with a low-ego approach prioritizing mission success
  • Clearance Required: Active US Top Secret or Top Secret / SCI clearance, with eligibility and willingness to obtain other clearances such as with the IC and the DOE.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven track record in U.S. Government proposal development and capture management
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical ideas into clear, audience-tailored documents for government stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating across multifunctional teams to deliver high-quality business materials under tight deadlines
  • Background in areas like Business Development, Technical Writing, or related fields supporting government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in national security, intelligence, or DoD environments.
  • Familiarity with AI, ML, or emerging technology domains in a government context.
  • Track record of partnering with engineering and BD teams to scope, write, and win complex government opportunities.
  • Skill in building and maintaining reusable resources like templates and knowledge bases for efficient capture operations
  • Proficiency in researching and qualifying growth opportunities within federal agencies or allied organizations
  • Familiarity with tools for document management, collaboration, or opportunity tracking in secure settings

Interview Process

After submitting your application, the team reviews your CV and statement of exceptional work. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 15 minute interview (“technical phone interview”) during which a member of our team will ask technical questions about your background or specialization. If you clear the initial phone interview, you will enter the main process, which consists of three technical interviews:

  1. 15 min Technical Screen
  2. 45 min Technical Interview

Our goal is to finish the main process within one week. All interviews will be conducted via Google Meet or in-person.

Annual Salary Range

$150,000 - $210,000 USD
