About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and driven Cybersecurity Penetration Tester to join our innovative security team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in ethical hacking to identify and address vulnerabilities across systems, networks, and applications. You will play a critical role in simulating real-world cyber-attacks, assessing our defenses, and recommending robust security enhancements. Ideal candidates are analytical, proactive, and passionate about staying ahead of evolving cyber threats in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive penetration tests to identify vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications.

  • Utilize ethical hacking techniques to simulate real-world attacks and evaluate the effectiveness of security defenses.

  • Document and prioritize findings based on risk levels, providing clear and actionable remediation recommendations.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest hacking techniques, tools, and emerging threats to refine and enhance testing strategies.

  • Collaborate with security and engineering teams to advise on security planning and implement potential enhancements.

  • This is an in-person role based in Palo Alto, CA, with occasional travel (up to 10%) for security assessments or team collaboration.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of hacking methodologies, including social engineering, physical security tests, and exploitation techniques.

  • Proficiency with penetration testing tools such as Metasploit, Nmap, Burp Suite, or ZAP.

  • In-depth knowledge of operating systems, network security protocols, and web application security principles.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret test results and propose effective countermeasures.

  • 5+ years of experience in penetration testing or ethical hacking roles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or equivalent.

  • Experience working in dynamic, fast-paced environments, ideally within technology-driven organizations.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks.

  • Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • A passion for cybersecurity and a curiosity for exploring new tools and techniques.

Annual Salary Range

$180,000 - $440,000 USD
