Scientist, Functional Genomics
About the Role
We are seeking an innovative and motivated Scientist in Functional Genomics to join our team. This role will be instrumental in advancing our mission to make new biological discoveries through high-throughput functional genomics efforts. You will lead projects that push the boundaries of functional genomics technology, working at the intersection of genomics, automation, data science, AI/ML and translational biology. This is an ideal position for a scientist passionate about discovery, eager to develop data-driven insights into therapeutic research.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and scale high-throughput functional genomics screens to discover drug targets, biomarkers, and novel molecular mechanisms in mammalian systems.
- Drive continuous innovation in experimental workflows and screening methodologies.
- Partner with computational biology, AI/ML, and drug discovery teams to analyze, interpret, and share insights from functional genomics data.
- Identify and resolve challenges in data generation, including assay reproducibility, sample throughput, and quality control.
- Independently manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality data and adherence to team goals.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments, protocols, and findings, contributing to internal and external scientific presentations.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Functional Genomics, or related field, with 1-3 years of postdoctoral or industry experience.
- Proven track record of conducting high-throughput functional genomics screens, preferably in an industry setting focused on drug discovery.
- Proficiency in CRISPR screening and scRNAseq technologies.
- Experience with automation platforms (e.g., liquid handlers) and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and improve experimental workflows, emphasizing efficiency, scalability, and data quality.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex experimental issues independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present scientific findings clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Enthusiastic team player who can work effectively across interdisciplinary teams and drive cross-functional projects.
Compensation

A Summary of Benefits is available for all applicants. The base pay range for this position is expected to be $120,158 - $130,000 annually; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the market, job-related knowledge, skills and capabilities, and experience.
