Senior Product Manager, AI Pricing Engine

About the Role

Xometry is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the development and execution of Xometry’s dynamic pricing engine, a core pillar of our AI-driven manufacturing platform. You will be at the forefront of shaping our pricing strategies, using advanced machine learning models to deliver precise, real-time pricing and lead-time predictions for custom manufacturing jobs. This role offers a unique opportunity to innovate within a fast-paced environment, working closely with cross-functional teams including data science, engineering, operations, and customer experience. This is a 1-year contract.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Vision & Strategy
    • Define and communicate a compelling product vision and strategy for the AI Pricing Engine, aligned with Xometry's long-term business goals.
    • Develop a roadmap to enhance pricing accuracy, optimize gross margins, and improve customer quote conversion rates.
    • Lead initiatives to create a more dynamic, scalable, and automated pricing system capable of handling a wide range of manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, 3D printing, injection molding).
  • Product Development & Execution
    • Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to build, validate, and iterate on machine learning models for cost and lead-time estimation.
    • Drive the integration of new features such as part complexity analysis, DFM (Design for Manufacturability) insights, and real-time market data inputs to enhance pricing accuracy.
    • Partner with software engineering teams to develop APIs, rule engines, and scalable backend systems that support real-time quoting.
    • Oversee A/B testing and experimentation using advanced techniques like multi-arm bandit testing to optimize pricing strategies and user experience.
  • Customer & Market Insights
    • Engage with customers, sales, and operations teams to gather feedback on pricing accuracy, usability, and pain points.
    • Perform market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation and continuous improvement in pricing capabilities.
    • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of pricing engine enhancements on customer satisfaction, conversion rates, and revenue growth.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Lead cross-functional teams across data science, engineering, operations, and UX to deliver innovative solutions and meet roadmap milestones.
    • Advocate for and drive the adoption of AI-powered pricing enhancements across internal teams and partner with stakeholders to scale the platform’s capabilities.
    • Present progress updates, insights, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, aligning project objectives with overall business goals.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML-powered products, pricing engines, or complex data-driven platforms.
    • Proven track record of leading the development and launch of successful B2C, B2B or enterprise SaaS products in the manufacturing, e-commerce, or marketplace sectors.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, data analytics, and experimentation methodologies (e.g., A/B testing, multi-arm bandit testing).
    • Experience working closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and software development teams to build scalable products.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC, 3D printing, injection molding) and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to influence and drive alignment across teams.
    • Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to derive insights from complex data sets and make data-driven decisions.
    • Highly organized, with strong project management skills and a bias toward execution.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, MS) is a plus.
