ITAR/Export Control Code Classification Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented ITAR/Export Control Code Classification Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing engineering drawings and associated documentation to determine appropriate ITAR and Export Control classifications. You will play a critical role in ensuring Xometry's compliance with all applicable regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Review engineering drawings and associated documentation submitted with customer orders.
- Identify and classify parts and assemblies according to ITAR and Export Control regulations (e.g., EAR99).
- Add appropriate ITAR and Export Control notes to orders based on classification.
- Manage a queue of drawings and verifications, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., engineering, sales, operations) to clarify classification requirements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of classifications and supporting documentation.
- Stay up-to-date on changes to ITAR and Export Control regulations.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of internal processes and procedures related to export compliance.
- U.S. Citizenship (required).
- 18+ years of age.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple1 tasks and prioritize2 effectively.
- Experience reading engineering drawings.
- Experience creating inspection reports.
- Experience or understanding of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Experience or understanding of Export Controls (e.g., EAR99).
