We are looking for a visionary leader to join our team as the VP of Product, Storefront and Buyer Experience to further elevate the user experience, optimize buyer journey, and lead transformation initiatives for our marketplace.

As the Vice President of Product, Storefront and Buyer Experience, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the product vision and strategy for Xometry’s marketplace with a focus on delivering seamless, intuitive, and highly efficient buyer experiences. You will oversee the strategic direction of the product, guiding a high-performing team of product managers, designers, and cross-functional leaders to optimize buyer interactions from discovery through checkout, ensuring that every stage of the buyer’s journey delivers maximum value.

This role will require a mix of deep product expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a thorough understanding of both the buyer’s needs and broader marketplace dynamics. You will lead the development of long-term product strategies, foster cross-functional collaboration, and mentor teams to ensure that Xometry’s marketplace continues to deliver cutting-edge, customer-centric solutions. You will have the opportunity to drive key business outcomes by leveraging data, driving innovation, and aligning product priorities with Xometry’s mission and growth objectives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Storefront Product Vision and Strategy: Develop a comprehensive product strategy for the Buyer Experience team that aligns with Xometry’s overarching business goals. Drive the long-term vision for the marketplace, ensuring a low friction buyer journey across all touchpoints.
  • Innovative Leadership: Inspire and lead a team of product managers and cross-functional teams to execute against an ambitious roadmap that enhances the buyer experience, optimizes conversions, and supports business growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, marketing, sales, design, data science, and sales leadership to ensure alignment on product priorities, roadmaps, and execution.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data, market insights, and customer feedback to inform product decisions. Lead the design of key performance metrics (KPIs) and continuously monitor the success of initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Customer-Centric Focus: Constantly advocate for the buyer’s experience, leveraging customer insights to create exceptional digital experiences that meet the evolving needs of our diverse buyer base.
  • Executive Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the team and act as a liaison between senior leadership and product teams. Present key updates, insights, and product opportunities to executive leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Marketplace Innovation: Drive continuous improvements to the marketplace, focusing on removing friction points, streamlining the path to purchase, and fostering an environment where buyers can make informed decisions quickly.
  • Mentorship and Development: Mentor and develop the direct product management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. Guide your team to embrace an outcome-driven mindset and ensure that every member has the tools and resources to succeed.

Outcomes you will own – The Vice President of Product, Buyer Experience, will be accountable for driving significant and measurable improvements across the buyer's end-to-end journey, contributing directly to Xometry's growth and market leadership. Success in this role will be defined by the achievement of the following key outcomes:

  • Marketplace Growth and Category Expansion: Achieve substantial expansion of Xometry's marketplace reach by driving the product strategy and roadmap to dramatically simplify the onboarding and scaling of new manufacturing processes and categories. Increase buyer engagement and retention through innovative "engagement drivers” such as collaborative project tools and incentive programs that demonstrably increase user activity, repeat purchases, and customer lifetime value. 
  • Buyer Acquisition and Pre-Purchase Engagement: Improve the effectiveness of buyer acquisition with deep integrations with multiple marketing channels, and maximizing the impact of landing page experiences. Drive a stronger first impression and higher conversion rates by tailoring landing page content and design to specific buyer segments and marketing campaigns. 
  • Purchase Flow Optimization and Conversion: Transform the core purchase flow to minimize buyer effort, resulting in a measurable increase in conversion rates. Enhance the speed and responsiveness of the quoting engine to deliver a best-in-class user experience, focusing on significant reductions in page latency and time-to-quote. Expand buyer flexibility and drive conversion by strategically implementing convenient options for delivery speed (e.g., expedited, standard, local) and sourcing (e.g., domestic, international).
  • Strategic Integrations and Ecosystem Expansion: Successfully execute a strategy to deeply syndicate Xometry's purchase funnel into key "neighborhood products" (e.g., CAD software), enabling a seamless and intuitive "single-click" quoting and buying experience for customers directly within their design workflows. Drive revenue growth and market penetration through these strategic integrations,

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Proven Leadership Experience: At least 10+ years of experience in product management, with a strong track record of success in leading high-performing product teams. Prior experience in a VP-level or senior leadership role overseeing product teams is required.
  • Marketplace Expertise: Deep experience with digital marketplaces, particularly in B2B, e-commerce, or SaaS environments, with a focus on optimizing the buyer experience and enhancing user engagement.
  • Data-Driven Approach: A proven ability to leverage data and analytics to inform decision-making and drive product performance.
  • Cross-Functional Expertise: Extensive experience working across functional areas, including engineering, design, data science, marketing, and customer success, with a collaborative and influencing style.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to set the vision, make high-level decisions, and deliver results that drive company growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Change Management: Proven ability to lead and drive change within a fast-paced, scaling organization. Comfort with ambiguity and adaptability in a rapidly evolving business environment.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
