DFM Project Engineer - 3D Printing

Position Summary:
As a DFM Project Engineer, you'll be a key technical resource, guiding customers across diverse industries—from automotive to medical devices—in leveraging Xometry's extensive 3D printing capabilities. Your primary focus will be evaluating customer designs for manufacturability and recommending optimal 3D printing solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for customer orders.
- Provide expert troubleshooting and support to ensure successful production and order execution.
- Collaborate directly with 3D printing shops, internal teams, and customers.
- Lead special projects to expand our manufacturing partner network, collaborate with OEM equipment makers, and enhance core competencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in 3D printing engineering and manufacturing, preferably within a multi-technology 3D printing environment.
- Deep understanding of 3D printing technologies, material selection, cycle times, cost, and design limitations.
- Proven experience working with suppliers, OEMs, and customers.
- Proficiency in 3D printing software (e.g., Materialise Magics, Rhino).
- Ability to identify and resolve Design for Manufacturability (DFM) issues from 3D models and drawings.
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.
- Advanced English skills.
