The Role 

XTX is seeking a Junior Quant Analyst role to work in our New York office to work with a new, small team on an exciting new project. Further details will be disclosed at interview stage.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market structure and micro-structure research.
  • Develop and test statistical and ML-based methods for forecasting.
  • Translate mathematical and statistical research into production-grade trading signals and decision support tools.
  • Prototype and refine models using Python.


Essential Attributes

  • Ph.D. (or equivalent research experience) in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline. We are open to fresh graduates or those with up to 3 years industry experience.
  • Strong expertise in probability, statistics, and inference.
  • Solid background in linear algebra, optimization, and numerical methods.
  • Proven ability to translate theory into robust, practical models.
  • Mastery of Python and scientific libraries (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels, XGBoost).
  • Independent researcher mindset with evidence of innovation (papers, patents, or equivalent).

 

Preferred Attributes

  • Publications in applied mathematics, statistics, or ML journals.
  • Recognition through open-source contributions, patents, or quantitative competitions (e.g., Kaggle).

 

Additional Notes

You must be able to start full-time work in our New York office within 3 months. You must be authorised to work full-time in the USA. 

The base salary range for this role is between $150,000 to $225,000 depending on relevant job-related skills and experience. You will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual performance bonus scheme and will enjoy a comprehensive package of benefits. All bonuses, benefits, and any sign-on payments are in addition to the base salary range stated. A generous relocation package is available if required.
