The Role

This role is ideal for an exceptional candidate who thrives in fast-paced environment and is keen to join a high performing team, using technology to enhance financial processes. The finance department are responsible for the control of the firm's assets, ensuring regulatory capital and liquidity requirements across multiple entities are met, as well as financial reporting and analysis.

You will join the financial control team, which numbers 8 people globally. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a diverse range of skilled and experienced finance and technology colleagues, including software engineers, treasury, regulatory capital and tax professionals.

The main areas of responsibility within the financial control team are:

  • Financial control and reporting.
  • Data analysis and insight.
  • Automation and process improvement.

In this role, you will have primarily responsibility for the finances of XTX Finland, where XTX is investing over €1bn to develop a state-of-the-art data centre, which is currently under construction.

You will be required to proactively engage with key stakeholders to deliver accurate accounting records, financial reporting, analysis and forecasts. 

This role reports to the Group Head of FP&A and Financial Control.

Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the operation of automated processes that conduct daily and monthly accounting.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement in existing processes and working collaboratively with software engineers and finance colleagues to implement them
  • Developing an understanding of the existing finance technology stack and actively contributing to the related operations and improvements
  • Owning controller activities for an allocated set of XTX entities, which includes ensuring a high degree of control and integrity in the accounting records and reporting
  • Performing important periodic and ad-hoc analysis and modelling for key stakeholders, including the board of directors. This includes analysing financial performance and modelling financial plans.
  • Preparing financial reports for management and statutory purposes, including financial statements under IFRS.
  • You will often be required to lead autonomously, business partnering with key stakeholders, internally and externally.


Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) with 4 or more years post qualification experience (7+ in total).
  • Minimum 2:1 degree, preferably in a STEM subject such as Maths, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science or related.

Technical Skills

  • Deep understanding of finance processes and reporting.
  • Good conceptual understanding of technical accounting.
  • Strong data and analytical capabilities, ability to query, transform and analyse large datasets.
  • SQL / Python / Power Query skills are preferred.
  • Construction sector knowledge is preferable.
