Yalo

Hi! This is Yalo! We are on a mission to bring conversational commerce to the world...

Remember how it used to be to interact with businesses that knew and understood you, that could recommend exactly what you needed, and that with a simple message could get you what you wanted??? Yep... neither do we. That is why at Yalo we are marrying the scale of digital commerce with the personalization and simplicity of conversations to help companies delight their users.

We know that traditional SAAS companies focus on first-world problems... we don't! Having started in Latin America, our roots are in Emerging Markets and therefore we care about bringing amazing experiences to a population that traditionally has been underserved, such as the small shop owner in Brazil who is ordering online for the first time.

If you're looking for a place to make things happen, learn fast, and impact emerging markets in a way that hasn't been done before, look no further. đź’«

Come Join us in our mission of improving billions of lives through the power of conversational commerce!

Your mission 🚀

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will help us enhance and scale our data intelligence platform, focusing on GenAi, recommendation and personalization models by applying advanced statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and deep learning frameworks. You will be working closely with product, engineering, and business teams to build, integrate, and deliver successful algorithms to our state-of-the-art SaaS platform.

What are the responsibilities for this role?

  • Own end-to-end development of ML & AI solutions—from opportunity identification and data exploration through modeling, deployment, monitoring, and iteration that create long-term strategic advantage with clear, measurable business impact.
  • Design and implement A/B experiments and causal inference analyses —conversational, behavioral, and e-commerce data— to evaluate product changes, perform statistical analysis, and clearly communicate insights and optimization impact to peers and stakeholders.
  • Continuously monitor model performance, assess data quality, and refine models to ensure accuracy and reliability systems that directly contribute to product success, revenue, efficiency, or growth.
  • Contribute to advancing NLP/GenAI and its applications to create highly innovative products and customer experiences, ranging from text understanding and classification to information extraction.
  • Contribute to solution generation and maintenance of complex recommendation systems and their applications to deliver personalized experiences that drive key business metrics, from user preference modeling and ranking to tailored content delivery.
  • Act as a strategic partner to product, engineering, and commercial teams by collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and designers to enhance features and products through data-driven insights and analytics.
  • Advocate for experimentation, explainability, and continuous evaluation of model performance in a real-world context.

  • Experienced in recommendation algorithms and marketing optimization techniques.
  • Able to clearly explain complex Data Science concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring stakeholders understand the impact and value of analytical work.
  • Proven track record of working with product and engineering teams and implementing end-to-end solutions from scratch, focusing on personalization, recommendations, and customer journey.
  • Experienced in designing solutions end-to-end, including defining business requirements, KPIs, effort estimates, and cost optimization strategies.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

A "recently separated veteran" means any veteran during the three-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval, or air service.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
