Job Summary 🧾
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Associate Manager, QA Engineering, to lead our talented team of dedicated QA engineers. You will be responsible for building, mentoring, and guiding the QA engineering team, defining and implementing robust testing strategies, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable software that delights millions of users daily. This role requires a blend of strong technical QA expertise and proven leadership capabilities to elevate our quality practices and contribute significantly to product success. You will be critical in elevating our quality standards and driving continuous improvement across our testing processes and infrastructure.
Your mission?
Your mission is to champion a quality-first culture across our engineering organization, moving beyond detection to prevention. You will strategically lead and empower the QA team, driving the adoption of innovative practices that not only guarantee exceptional product quality but also accelerate delivery and significantly elevate the strategic impact of the QA function within Yalo. This role exists to elevate the quality bar within the team, drive continuous improvement in QA processes, frameworks, and tools, and contribute to the overall success of the product by proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
What are the responsibilities for this role? 🧠
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of QA engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering their professional growth.
- Define, implement, and continuously improve scalable and efficient QA processes, methodologies, and standards.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies for our products, covering functional, performance, security, and reliability testing.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of automated test frameworks and test suites.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, and other stakeholders to integrate quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Drive efforts to increase test automation coverage and reduce manual testing efforts.
- Manage test environments and infrastructure to support efficient testing activities.
- Analyze and report on key quality metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Facilitate root cause analysis of production issues and implement preventative measures.
- Ensure timely and effective communication regarding quality status, risks, and mitigation plans.
Job Requirements?💻
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance or Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET) roles.
- Proven experience leading, mentoring, or managing a team of QA engineers.
- Extensive experience designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive test automation strategies and frameworks.
- Deep understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
- Experience with API testing tools like Postman or equivalent.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how QA integrates into them.
- Experience with performance, security, and reliability testing is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
