The Mid-Market Account Executive will focus on fast-paced sales efforts targeting merchants with annual sales below $500M. You will be responsible for managing a higher volume of accounts, executing tailored sales strategies, and driving swift deal closures. This role emphasizes agility, consistent top-of-funnel activity, and skill development in moderately complex deal cycles.

You’ll also…

  • Account Qualification and Mapping: Own a roster of 30-40 qualified active accounts at all times, focusing on high-velocity outbound and meeting generation. Before you can take ownership of an account you must be able to demonstrate that the account is qualified as an ideal prospect and show clear indicators on why “now” is the right time to conduct outreach on predetermined contacts.
  • Customized Sales Outreach: Create  tailored Top of Funnel outreach campaigns based on the Zip Value Prop, the merchant needs, market trends, and vertical nuances.
  • Pipeline Generation: Maintain steady prospecting efforts to secure discovery opportunities in order to meet top-of-funnel targets - Generating 6+ Discovery meetings per month.
  • Efficiency in Selling: Demonstrate the ability to run a highly organized end-to-end sales process from Discovery through Integration, and knowing when and how to engage necessary stakeholders and partners throughout the process.
  • Metrics Monitoring: Participate in weekly 1:1 sessions to ensure alignment with sales KPIs and account activity benchmarks.

What you’ll bring to the team

Must-Haves

  • High-Velocity Sales Experience: Proven ability to manage and convert a high volume of accounts within short sales cycles of 60-180 days
  • B2B Sales Skills: At least 3+ years of full-cycle B2B sales experience, with exposure to retail merchants or ecommerce 
  • Payment Systems Knowledge: Functional understanding of payments, checkout processes, consumer finance and BNPL solutions.
  • Proficient in Sales Tools: Competence in using Salesforce, outreach tools, and analytics software.
  • Adaptability: Ability to formulate strategic hypotheses and then quickly pivot based on market feedback and sales performance metrics.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Knowledge of specific retail verticals, such as fashion or entertainment.
  • Familiarity with the retail technology stack and consumer lending trends.
  • Demonstrated experience thriving in a competitive environment and adapting to change

Zip is committed to a straightforward and transparent pay structure. The actual base salary will be determined by various individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, location, internal equity, as well as other objective business considerations.

The annual base Pay Range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000 USD. In addition, you will be eligible for a commission of equal value to the base pay range, making on-target earnings (OTE) a range of $240,000 to $280,000 (50% base salary and 50% commission). This range reflects our US national compensation band. Additional premium percentages may apply based on our tiered premium location-based strategy.

Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. 

If hired, employees will be in an 'at-will position' and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
