ZIP is hiring a Senior Director, Merchant Integration and Enablement to lead our merchant integration and technical enablement functions. This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring seamless pre and post sales support, merchant and embedded integration, and the delivery of exceptional merchant experiences. You will be a critical leader in reinforcing and expanding ZIP’s position as a payments organization trusted by merchants and recognized for operational excellence and industry leadership.
As a key member of the Product, Design, and Engineering Leadership Team, you will play a central role in:
- Driving pre sales technical support and post sales merchant enablement
- Guiding merchants and partners through technical integrations and certifications
- Acting as the merchant voice to help shape ZIP products and services
- Building scalable processes that improve time to integration and long term merchant success
- Partnering closely with Sales, Partnerships, Product Management, and Engineering to align priorities and deliver measurable outcomes
You will lead a high performing team of integration and technical enablement professionals and foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, and operational excellence.

- Define and execute the merchant integration and technical enablement strategy for ZIP US
- Partner with Sales to deliver pre sales technical support, solution design, and integration readiness for prospective merchants and embedded partners
- Lead post sales integration and technical enablement efforts that ensure merchants are successfully onboarded and supported at scale
- Drive embedded partnership execution, ensuring ZIP is seamlessly integrated into partner platforms and third party ecosystems
- Serve as the merchant advocate, ensuring merchant voice and industry perspective inform product strategy and roadmap decisions
- Champion secure by design and resilient by design principles in all merchant integrations to meet regulatory and customer trust expectations
- Establish and track key metrics including time to integration, merchant satisfaction, and SLA and SLO attainment
- Build, lead, and develop a team of merchant integration and technical enablement professionals to deliver against strategic objectives
What you will bring to the team
- Ownership and accountability – you proactively address challenges, reduce merchant friction, and work to elevate standards and outcomes.
- Industry expertise – you bring strong payments experience with a deep understanding of merchant services, acquiring, and embedded payments models.
- Technical acumen – you can translate complex payment and integration concepts for both technical and business stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills – you are confident in engaging merchants, industry partners, and internal executives, representing ZIP with credibility and influence.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a graduate degree is a plus
- 12+ years of experience in payments, merchant services, or fintech with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles
- Direct experience leading pre sales support, post sales merchant enablement, or integration teams in a payments context
- Proven ability to scale merchant onboarding, integration, and technical enablement models in regulated, high trust environments
- Strong track record of partnering with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Partnerships to deliver commercial and technical outcomes
- Demonstrated success in building and leading high performing teams that deliver measurable results

- Metrics oriented leader with focus on integration efficiency, merchant satisfaction, and operational excellence
AI Competency
- Demonstrated understanding of how generative AI and machine learning can be responsibly and effectively leveraged within merchant integrations
- Experience integrating AI into workflows and technical strategies, either directly or by leading engineering teams doing so

Zip is committed to a straightforward and transparent pay structure. The actual base salary will be determined by various individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, location, internal equity, as well as other objective business considerations. The annual base Pay Range for this position is $217,000 - $260,000 USD. This range reflects our US national compensation (USN). Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. If hired, employees will be in an 'at-will position'.
