We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Unmanned Aircraft Technician to join our production team. The Unmanned Aircraft Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and testing of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to ensure their optimal performance and safety. This role involves working closely with engineers, pilots, and operations teams to support various UAV missions.
Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-flight inspections, maintenance, and repairs on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) according to manufacturer guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct post-flight inspections and analysis to ensure the airworthiness of the UAVs.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues with UAVs, including flight controls, avionics, sensors, and software systems.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute UAV missions, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of UAV maintenance, repairs, and operational activities.
- Assist in updating and documenting UAV software configurations prior to flight test events and customer delivery.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and system level fabrication at both the sub-assembly and system level
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including knowledge of flight controls, avionics, and sensors.
- Familiarity with UAV software, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills related to UAV systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Adherence to safety protocols and a strong commitment to risk management.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and operational requirements.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in operating UAV software and data management tools.
Hours for this position are 8am to 4:30PM Monday through Friday
Expected outcomes:
- Within 3 months: Perform UAV assembly, attend local flight tests, and familiarize yourself with Zone 5 production documentation and standards.
- Within 6 months: Assist in updating production documentation, contribute to design decisions for mechanical and electrical components.
- Within 12 months: Establish yourself as a subject matter expert in the production and assembly of Zone 5 UAS, analyze and resolve aircraft performance anomalies, and contribute to company-wide improvement initiatives such as AS9100 certification and Quality Management System implementation.
Pay range for this role
$60,000 - $100,000 USD

Note about our Texas roles: we are in the process of opening a location on the mid-west side of the DFW metro region. Roles in Texas will initially work remotely and then be expected to be onsite when that location opens in 2026.
