Introduction

We are looking for a hands-on, curious, and industrious R&D Electrical Technician to join our engineering team. In this role, you will work alongside our engineers to build, test, and debug the electronics that power our manicure robots. This is not a production role: each day brings new prototypes, new problems to solve, and the chance to help shape the next generation of our machines.

This is an on-site role at our headquarters in Burlington, MA. If you have a few years of hands-on electronics rework experience, and enjoy figuring out why something isn't working, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Assemble, rework, and repair prototype circuit boards, including surface mount soldering
  • Hand-assemble electrical and electro-mechanical components and subassemblies
  • Crimp wires and connectors
  • Read schematics and PCB layout files to trace circuits and track down faults
  • Work with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers by performing electrical testing and measurements to validate new designs and debug issues
  • Use digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers to gather data and diagnose issues
  • Support engineers with basic schematic and layout updates
  • Document test results, write formatted notes, report findings so the team can act on them

What You Have

Education

  • Diploma from a high school program (technical or vocational preferred), an associate's degree, or some college coursework in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or a related field

Experience

  • Hands-on experience with electronics through work, school, or projects
  • Experience with surface mount soldering and rework
  • Experience with crimping wire contacts
  • Ability to interpret schematics and PCB layout files with an eye toward debugging
  • Experience with electrical testing using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
  • Basic schematic and PCB layout experience
  • Experience with hand tools and hand assembly of electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Experience in an R&D, lab, or prototyping environment is a plus

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to finding root causes
  • Comfortable working on new, unfinished designs where the answer isn't always known
  • Clear documentation habits, so engineers can follow what you tested and found
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with engineers
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities as projects evolve
