What We Need:

2K is looking for a Manager, Digital Community to drive the community management vision, strategy, and execution for our Firaxis portfolio of partnered projects, including the Civilization and XCOM franchises with a primary focus on engaging within the Steam and Discord platforms.  In this position, you are the voice of the community, and will work closely with both the Firaxis Development and 2K Global Marketing teams, serving as the player advocate to help define and drive community building and engagement to our passionate players at the studio level. You will use social listening and analytics tools to measure the needs of our player communities, and regularly report on those needs to our product marketing and development teams, driving meaningful, player-first change in-game and out. 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Community Marketing, the ideal candidate will be a gaming enthusiast with a passion for the Civilization and XCOM franchises and a deep drive for activating and growing communities in innovative and impactful ways.

 

What You’ll Do:

Digital Community Relations (Voice of the Consumer):

  • Engage and build relationships with our players across numerous community platforms including Steam, Discord, Reddit and more. 

  • Partner with 2K Brand, Social, Influencer, Communications, and our Firaxis Publishing and Development partners, to champion the needs and wants of our players and help improve our game experiences.

  • Create and maintain a feedback loop for title communities and brainstorm ways to cross-leverage and promote our players and their needs to the 2K Marketing teams and Studio stakeholders.

  • Use analytics and social listening tools to identify and quantify player needs, using these insights to build regular reports that inform our wider marketing and development teams, ensuring the player voice is heard.

  • Assist the marketing, social, and communication teams with coordination and execution of various marketing requests of the development team.

  • Work directly with our external agencies to build player response messaging plans and moderation guides, primarily on Discord and Steam reviews/forums. 

 

Community Growth Strategy (Influencing our Marketing):

  • Collaborate with cross-functional publishing partners (Global Brand Marketing, Communications, Product Development, Partnerships & Licensing, Legal, and the studio) in defining the community growth strategies for our beloved communities across the studio portfolio and the platforms where our experiences are featured.

  • Develop and execute against key Community programs that celebrate and promote our passionate fan base for the advocates that they are, stoking the core and incentivizing new fans to join and grow our communities.

  • Assist with identification of key creator opportunities that can both engage and grow our communities in the most creative and positive ways possible.

  • Ladder up all community activations in support of the master Global Marketing Strategies for our titles.

  • Leveraging various sentiment and conversation listening tools, develop community engagement and growth performance metrics, providing regular performance analysis and reporting on player sentiment, needs and wants.

 

What Will Make You a Great Fit:

  • You have 4 - 6 years working in a comparable digital community building and/or social role within gaming, media or entertainment.

  • Innate knowledge, experience, and passion for engaging and growing core entertainment communities, developing meaningful ground floor relationships that create fans for life.

  • Deep understanding of community management  platform nuances, as well as the creator and influencer ecosystem (especially Steam, Reddit, Twitch, YouTube, Discord).

  • Extensive knowledge of analytical tools such as LevelUp, Radarly, Discord analytics, Tubular, and Sprinklr, and using these tools to build reports and feedback processes that speak to our wide cross functional teams.

  • Highly collaborative with others, contributing creative and innovative ideas for engaging and growing our community!

  • Outgoing, intellectually curious and can proactively reach out to people to build key relationships.

  • You are willing to roll up your sleeves and get things done.

  • You are highly organized, timely and communicative.

  • Have extensive knowledge of the video game landscape, with specific knowledge of Civilization, and XCOM franchises.

  • You can aggregate, synthesize, and analyze data, communicating key learnings cross-functionally.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $100,200 and $148,320 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for employees in regular roles may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, provided that temporary or intern roles will not be eligible for many of these payments or benefits. Details of participation in compensation and benefit plans (if applicable) will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.If hired, employee will be in an ~at-will position~ and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
