Merchant Onboarding Specialist

We are looking for a Merchant Onboarding Specialist to join our Merchant Operations department. You will be responsible for scoping and assessing the most effective ways to onboard merchants onto the Adyen platform, ensuring product suitability, compliance, and operational scalability.

As a highly regulated company, we adhere to various rules and regulations to grow our business with a healthy portfolio of merchants. Therefore, you will assess customer needs related to onboarding while keeping compliance guidelines in mind.

You will also play a key role in supporting the growth of markets within APAC by optimizing onboarding processes that contribute to revenue expansion.

What you’ll do

  • Understand Adyen’s product offering and advise in the best way how customers can benefit from them;
  • Work closely with Adyen’s commercial teams as well as compliance to ensure a smooth rollout;
  • Become the knowledge expert, own and improve processes related to merchant onboarding;
  • Drive decision making and transparency through data analysis and insights;
  • Educate commercial teams on the latest regulatory, procedural, and scheme compliance changes;
  • Gather insights from Sales, Account Management, and Partnerships teams in regards to the commercial pipeline and translate this to operational needs.
  • Contribute to internal process improvement initiatives to help our business scale.

About you

  • More than 3 years in a Commercial, Project Management or Compliance environment
  • Strong people skills with a focus on relationship building
  • A driven self-starter who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to collaborate within a team
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to assess situations more broadly along with a disruptive approach, adaptable across compliance, commercial, and product areas
  • You are fluent in English and another Asian language (Mandarin is a plus!) , with the ability to be a strong conversationalist
  • You have at least a basic understanding of KYC requirements and processes, with a willingness to deepen your expertise as needed.
