As the People Ops Manager, you will own and continuously improve the full employee lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding—with a strong focus on employee experience, operational excellence, and culture.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you’ll collaborate closely with the People team to design and implement programs, processes, and systems that support scalable growth while keeping our people at the center.

This role is based in our Mountain View office, with an expectation to work onsite 2–3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and continually optimize all People Operations processes (onboarding, offboarding, employee surveys) while maintaining and improving existing People-related systems (HRIS, engagement tools)
  • Evaluate and optimize existing HRIS and People systems; proactively identify opportunities for improvements and, when appropriate, propose new tools and technologies (including AI) that support company growth, scalability, and a seamless employee experience
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and third parties to support payroll, benefits administration, and compliance
  • Assess and manage existing benefits providers, regularly evaluating offerings to ensure they meet employee needs and align with company growth; recommend changes or optimizations as needed to stay competitive and support overall employee well-being
  • Be a trusted resource for employees, answering HR policies and benefits questions, supporting a positive employee experience
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and documentation ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze a People team dashboard that delivers actionable insights on key metrics such as headcount growth, attrition, engagement, and other workforce trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to strategic People projects and initiatives that scale and strengthen our culture as we grow.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant People Operations experience, preferably in a fast-growing company with prior experience scaling People Ops
  • Prior experience working with Employment of Record (EOR) providers and managing relationships with various benefits vendors
  • Deep understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance
  • Experience with HRIS platforms and tools (e.g., BambooHR) and willingness to learn new ones.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Service-Oriented Mindset: A strong passion for supporting employees, anticipating their needs, and creating a positive and seamless experience at every touchpoint.
  • Global Perspective: Experience working with distributed teams across different cultures and time zones.
  • Project Management: Strong ability to design, execute, and measure people-focused programs.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire employees at all levels.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Experience using employee insights, surveys, and analytics to drive decision-making and to measure the impact of people processes and programs.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with leadership, the People team, and employees to create meaningful impact.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and scaling employee experience initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
