
DevOps Engineer Intern
The DevOps Intern will support CI/CD pipelines, containerized application builds, and infrastructure automation while gaining hands-on experience with modern DevOps tools in a supervised production environment.
The AEVEX Internship Program gives individuals who are early in their career the opportunity to gain valuable learning opportunities while discussing goals, evaluating performance and receiving regular feedback. This Engineering Intern will work along side the Tactical Systems Engineering Team through a variety of disciplines to envision, design, and develop products and systems while developing and refining their technical skills.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with manager and team mentor(s) to establish internship goals and steps on achieving those goals throughout duration of the internship
- Assists with CI/CD pipeline maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting under supervision
- Supports containerized application workflows, including Docker image builds and validation
- Assists with Kubernetes-related tasks such as inspecting pods, deployments, and namespaces
- Helps maintain infrastructure and deployment documentation, runbooks, and SOPs
- Performs basic log review, data collection, and operational checks to support troubleshooting
- Assists with automation and scripting tasks (Bash/Python/YAML) as directed
- Works with senior DevOps and software engineers to support development and deployment workflows
- Tests changes in non-production environments and documents results
- Performs other related duties as assigned in support of DevOps operations

Education / Certifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- Equivalent practical experience (bootcamp, labs, homelab projects, or self-directed learning) may be considered in lieu of a traditional degree
- Academic performance demonstrating the ability to learn and apply technical concepts (preferred GPA 3.0 or higher, if applicable)

Security Clearance
