Product Manager (Anticipated)

United States

Agile Six is a people-first, remote-work company that serves shoulder-to-shoulder with federal agencies to find innovative, human-centered solutions. We build better by putting people first. We are animated by our core values of Purpose, Wholeness, Trust, Self-Management and Inclusion. We deliver our solutions in autonomous teams of self-managed professionals (no managers here!) who genuinely care about each other and the work. We know that’s our company’s purpose – and that we can only achieve it by supporting a culture where people feel valued, self-managed, and love to come to work.

The role

Agile Six is looking for a Product Manager to join a new team where you’ll guide shared platforms, services, and APIs that multiple products depend on—balancing short-term delivery with a long-range vision that enables cross-team collaboration and speed. We look for Product Managers who embrace empowerment and a growth mindset: people who care just as much about supporting others’ growth as they do their own. If you’re passionate about solving complex problems that impact millions of users and want to help shape the foundation on which user-facing capabilities are built, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll be the primary champion for the platform’s vision—ensuring shared components, data services, and developer experience evolve in alignment with the needs of both end users and the product squads delivering features. You’ll combine day-to-day backlog leadership with longer-term product strategy and cross-team alignment, all within a highly empowered, self-organizing environment.

Please note, this position is anticipated, pending contract award response.

Responsibilities

Vision & purpose

  • Craft, communicate, and iteratively refine a compelling product vision that resonates with users, stakeholders, and the team.
  • Establish and reinforce the “why” at the sprint level so the team can self-organize around solving the right problems.

Discovery

  • Develop an expert understanding of the domain, users, and business context.
  • Lead continuous discovery—partnering with UX research and design—to surface, test, and prioritize user needs that will maximize value.

Communication

  • Translate intent into artifacts that support creative, cross-functional problem solving (user stories, story maps, roadmaps).
  • Keep stakeholders informed and empowered through clear updates on strategy, progress, and outcomes.

Agile delivery

  • Own the product backlog, breaking down problems so value ships iteratively and incrementally.
  • Drive early validation of risky assumptions and early, continuous delivery of measurable outcomes.

Collaboration & growth

  • Build trust-based relationships with teammates and stakeholders.
  • Navigate and reconcile diverse (sometimes conflicting) stakeholder constraints through creative solutions.
  • Model self-management and foster a growth mindset across the team.

We expect the responsibilities of this position to shift and grow organically over time, in response to considerations such as the unique strengths and interests of the selected candidate and other team members and an evolving understanding of the delivery environment.

Basic qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience applying product discovery techniques to inform vision, strategy, prioritization, and delivery.
    • If you have a Bachelor’s degree, at least 4 years of experience are required. If you have a different degree (e.g., Associate’s or Master’s), let us know and we’ll adjust the experience requirement accordingly.
  • Proven ability to launch products from conception through production and to manage client/stakeholder relationships.
  • Deep knowledge of agile principles and practices; adept at writing user stories and acceptance criteria that convey the what and why while leaving room for the team to own the how.
  • Effective communicator, leader, and motivator who thrives in self-organizing teams.
  • Has lived and worked in the United States for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally if a client requires it.

Preferred qualifications

  • You are a U.S. Veteran. As a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, we recognize the transition to civilian life can be tricky, and welcome and encourage Veterans to apply.
  • Experience in government contracting or civic-tech environments.

At Agile Six, we are committed to building teams that represent a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. Even if you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply. We’re eager to meet people who believe in our mission and who can contribute to our team in a variety of ways.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
