Contracts Manager

Agile Space Industries, Inc. (AGILE) designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for satellites and spacecraft. AGILE uses state of the art 3D metal alloy printing techniques to rapidly design, manufacture, and test new engine designs in our purpose-built propulsion test facility. With over a decade of experience testing rocket engines, and engineers who have worked at industry leaders like Blue Origin, SpaceX, NASA, and Aerojet Rocketdyne, AGILE is a rapidly growing company with many exciting Defense, Civil and Commercial programs.
AGILE is headquartered in Durango, CO with a facility in Mount Pleasant, PA and growing presence in Tulsa, OK. The CEO, CFO and CCO are based around Boulder, CO.
Agile Space Industries is seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of government and commercial contract management, including subcontract management, purchasing activities, and proposal support. This is a highly hands-on role ideal for someone who already has a solid foundation in contract administration to protect the company’s interests by being knowledgeable with federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS), and is eager to roll up their sleeves, drive results, and grow with a dynamic team.
We're looking for someone who can operate confidently and independently reviewing terms, managing documentation, facilitate issuing purchase orders, master agreements and subcontracts but who is also coachable and ready to evolve as Agile scales.
Location: Remote - U.S.-based candidates only. Preference for those near Durango, CO or open to occasional on-site visits.
Responsibilities:
Contracts, Subcontracts, and Consultants
- Review, negotiate, and manage prime contracts and modifications.
- Issue, negotiate, and administer subcontracts, consulting agreements and facilitate purchase orders, ensuring proper flow-down of required terms.
- Issue, negotiate, and manage the NDAs and teaming agreements.
- Interpret FAR/DFARS clauses and ensure compliance with applicable terms and internal policies as well as flow downs.
- Coordinate closely with technical, legal, and finance teammates to ensure contractual alignment throughout project lifecycle.
- Support Program Managers with submitting compliant deliverables accurately and on-time.
Proposals, Purchasing, and More
- Support the Proposal Manager by reviewing, providing guidance, strategy, and risk management in responding to RFPs/RFIs for government and commercial opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineering and program management to understand procurement needs and priorities.
- Conduct price analysis, vendor evaluation, and assist in source selection processes.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain audit-ready procurement documentation.
Process and Compliance
- Serve as the company’s liaison with the customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Identify contractual risks and recommend mitigation strategies to protect Agile.
- Maintain complete, accurate and organized contract and procurement files.
- Support internal reviews, government audits, and CPSR readiness efforts.
- Assist with developing and improving contract templates, sourcing processes, and internal workflows for process improvement and to scale with company growth.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and federal acquisition regulations.
- Support internal reviews, audits, and government reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 5–10 years of relevant contracts experience, with exposure to both government (FAR/DFARS) and commercial contracting environments as the Prime and Subcontractor.
- Knowledgeable with a good understanding on all contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF, IDIQ, OTA).
- Strong organizational, communication skills and attention to detail, with an ability to juggle details across multiple programs.
- Self-starter mindset, organized, with a willingness to dive into the day-to-day and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a lean and evolving environment—where your work will have a direct impact.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with small business procurement practices.
- Knowledge with compliance requirements related to DCAA/DCMA audits, or contractor purchasing systems.
- NCMA Certification (CPCM or CFCM)
- Experience in the aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing sector.
- Experience using procurement / ERP system, Cost Point.
- Working knowledge of export control regulations.

Work Schedule: Full-Time
Salary: $99,000 to $135,000
The posted salary band reflects the compensation range for candidates located in Colorado, in compliance with Colorado state law. If you are located in another state, please contact HR to inquire about the applicable compensation band, as requirements may vary by jurisdiction.
Remote Status: Yes – with occasional on-site support in Durango, CO
