At Alamar Biosciences, we’re on a mission to transform the field of proteomics for the early detection of cancer and other diseases. We are creating the world’s most sensitive proteomics platform to unmask the deepest secrets of our proteome. Our fully automated, high throughput platform will empower new biomarker discoveries for early detection and prevention of common diseases. We provide exceptional opportunities for those who have the entrepreneurial spirit, enjoy developing novel technologies and products, and aspire to grow together with the company.
We are seeking an Scientist with a passion for innovation to augment our novel biomarker detection and quantitation capability on Alamar’s novel technology platform. In this position, you will be working in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and will be a part of a rapidly growing company to make a big impact in life science research and early disease diagnosis.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of high-plex (100+ - plex) proteomic panels of various disease areas for biomarker discovery, validation, and translational research.
- Develop and optimize the high-plex panels to ensure high specificity, sensitivity, and reproducibility of the product.
- Perform multivariate analysis to optimize assay performance, minimize cross-reactivity, and mitigate matrix effect.
- Drive continuous improvement in product reliability, process efficiency, assay consistency, and workflow scalability.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges via root-cause analysis and implement corrective strategies.
- Develop and maintain critical documentation, including SOPs, PRDs, and assay transfer documents to support product development and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as SME and provide mentorship to junior scientists.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to advance projects and contribute to strategic discussions.
Requirements include:
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline with 1+ years of industry experience in high-plex assay development (proteomics, immunoassays, or NGS-based multiplexing).
- Deep expertise in multiplex immunoassay platforms (e.g., Luminex, MSD, Olink, Ella, SomaLogic, etc)
- Experience with molecular technology such qPCR/ddPCR and NGS is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of optimizing assay performance.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for presenting data, writing technical reports, and collaborating within and across teams.
- Knowledge of biomarker validation, statistical process controls, or clinical sample testing are preferred.
