As the Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Lead the creation of interior components, ensuring designs meet performance, cost, weight, and quality standards.
- Oversee projects from conception to production, managing timelines, conducting design reviews, and addressing issues. Collaborate with program management to meet project milestones.
- Work effectively with design, manufacturing, and supplier teams to ensure designs are feasible, manufacturable, and compliant with performance and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement validation strategies for interior components. Conduct or supervise testing to ensure designs meet functional, durability, and safety criteria.
- Engage with suppliers to communicate design requirements, track progress, and resolve issues. Coordinate with procurement and quality teams to ensure supplier outputs meet standards.
- Drive innovation and improvements in interior systems, focusing on user experience, cost efficiency, and material sustainability.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of all designs, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications. Ensure adherence to automotive regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in automotive interior design and engineering with a proven record of managing projects from concept to production.
- Expertise in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, NX) and experience with PLM systems. Deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and vehicle interior architecture.
- Strong analytical abilities to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement them effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the capability to convey complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate effectively across different departments.
- Enthusiastic about automotive engineering, innovation, and sustainability.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
