Description:
- Tool & Equipment Management:
- Support test engineers in locating and preparing tools & test equipment
- Take ownership of tool & equipment organization through use of 5S / visual control
- Proper labeling / storage / use of Autolockers and critical equipment tracking
- Monitor tools and equipment for necessary repairs; work with supplier to obtain quote for management review and approval; coordinate repairs with supplier and return to service
- Monitor usage and make recommendations on additional tools and/or equipment to order for maximizing vehicle test efficiency
- Support maintaining overall shop cleanliness & organization in designated department areas
- Vehicle test preparation:
- Interior and exterior disassembly and reassembly
- Tire mounting and pressure set
- Brake changes
- ECU swaps and flashing
- Assist test engineer with equipment setup and application of exterior camo
- Electrical harness creation and modification
- Basic vehicle management:
- Locate vehicles on campus; assist with movement of vehicles as needed
- Monitor vehicles for regular maintenance; transport vehicles to/from service center when needed; update log with work completed
- Ensure vehicles are charged/filled with gas and staged in designated locations
- Monitor OTA software updates and install as directed by test engineers
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to work with a high level of autonomy
- Commit to confidentiality → will be working around secured lab & prototype vehicles
- Good communication skills and team player (will support ~ 20 test engineers)
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving history
- Able to lift 50 lbs; squatting, bending, and moving in tight spaces occasionally required
- Experience implementing 5S principles in shop environment and maintaining to high standard
- Basic automotive mechanics and ECU flashing
- General computer skills – will use MS Office (Outlook, Excel), SharePoint, Lotus Notes
- Flexibility: Occasional (<10%) overtime and/or hours-of-work shift may be required to support test activity
